IntroductionAcura's entry-level model is now the only one in the range with a nameevery other Acura sports an alpha or alphanumeric model designation. The Integra was one of the first models to be offered when Acura dealers opened for business in 1986, and it remains the brand's biggest seller by a three-to-one margin. The current Integra, the third generation, was introduced in 1994. The 2-door Integra is a hatchback, a body style becoming increasingly rare in America. Integra buyers tend to be young, well-educated people, and large numbers of Integras can be found in the parking lots of high-tech companies. In 1998 the Integra lineup received revised front and rear styling and a high-performance version, the Type R.
