The Mustang is Ford’s sports car icon, which debuted in 1964 and created a new market segment that became known as pony cars. The Mustang is updated for 2013 with a new aggressive design that features a more prominent grille and front splitter. The Mustang was redesigned for 2010 with updated styling, performance enhancements and additional refinement, building on the major redesign for the 2005 model year. When the Mustang was redesigned for 2005, it was still immediately recognizable as a Mustang but offered thoroughly modern performance with powerful engines, advanced MacPherson strut front suspension and a three-link live axle with Panhard rod rear suspension for the rear-wheel-drive platform.
