The Malibu is Chevrolet’s midsize sedan that is redesigned for 2013 with a new exterior design and a new dual-cockpit interior that offers more room, a quieter ride and more premium materials and content. A new fuel-efficient 2.5-liter Ecotec engine with a new 6-speed automatic transmission is added. Malibu Eco features the eAssist system, which uses power stored in an air-cooled, lithium-ion battery to provide needed electrical boost in different driving situations to optimize engine and transmission operation. The Malibu was previously redesigned for 2008 with a bolder design including a dual-port grille and upscale elements such as an available two-tone interior. The 2008 Malibu was larger, more powerful and more fuel efficient than the model it replaced. The Malibu name was first used for the top-level Chevelle in 1964 and the name returned for the 1997 model year as an all-new front-wheel-drive sedan. The Chevrolet Malibu comes standard with the OnStar advanced communication system.
