2013 Ford Expedition Extended SUV EL Eddie Bauer V8
Roomy second- and third-row seats, cargo and towing capacity.
Driving position, braking, noisy and strained engine, fuel economy, turning circle, fit and finish, instrument legibility.
The Expedition competes with the Chevrolet Suburban in the 'huge SUV' class. It's available in two lengths, with the extended-length EL offering massive cargo space and seating for up to eight. The roomy third-row seat folds flat into the floor and is as comfortable as the second row. The coarse sounding V8 produces 310 hp but often sounds as if it is straining. It's mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Our tested EL felt sluggish and returned 13 mpg overall. Towing capacity is generous. Handling is relatively responsive for such a large vehicle, but braking distances are long.
