Ride, quietness, fit and finish, front-seat comfort, fuel-economy.
Visibility, tight cockpit, cluttered dashboard, small trunk, reliability.
The LaCrosse is a competitive large sedan. The refined 3.6-liter V6 is powerful and returns 20 mpg overall. The base four-cylinder eAssist mild hybrid delivers good performance and better fuel economy at 26 mpg overall, and shuts off at idle to save fuel. The excellent ride is steady and supple, and handling is responsive. All-wheel drive is available. The interior is luxurious and well finished, and rear-seat room is generous. But the exterior styling compromises visibility fore and aft, and the cockpit is narrow. Reliability of both four-cylinder and V6 versions has been below average. A freshening arrives this summer.
