The best for snow
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 07/05/2007.
Trim: 2002 Subaru Forester L, Owned 6 years.
2
Pros:
Mostly the rear door for ease when loading the car. Like the performance in the snow
Cons:
Have had problems with transmission from the first year and again at the 5th year. Problems with pinging.
Overall review:
Like the car for everything else but the issues with the transmission and pinging which are major.

Perfect car
by Larry on 02/12/2003.
Trim: 2002 Subaru Forester S Premium, Owned 1 year.
2
Pros:
Handling ability, plenty of power for freeway operation, easy to handle in city traffic.
Cons:
Back seat is a little tight on leg room. However for two people or a small family it is not bad.
Overall review:
Outstanding! I have driven the car for over a year and have NO compliants. The dealer has been great, bends over backwards to help with any question and service.

Terrific 2002 Forester
by Ex-Olds Mom from CT on 07/26/2002.
Trim: 2002 Subaru Forester L, Owned less than 1 year.
2
Pros:
If the 2003 is like the 2002 it's a winner! I've flopped from Toyota to Oldsmobile (ah...American cars....) and back to Subaru on a recommendation. Roomy enough for 2 active kids and what a secure ride! Interior is really nice with all the cubbies for Spiderman action figures and my stuff too.
Cons:
Wish I waited until 2003. It's a used car now!
Overall review:
Excellent lil' SUV. I chose it over Toyota RAV4 and Honda CV, both too top heavy and over-plastic. I really like the full size spare (and it's not hanging off the back of the vehicle), I know that sounds stupid but I had a 2" wide donut in my Olds...
