Good Car
by Brett from Nebraska on 10/24/2008.
Trim: 1991 Ford Tempo GL sedan, Owned 1 year.
3
Pros:
It's a good car for some short trips and maybe the occasional long trip.
Cons:
Right now it doesn't run, I think there is a seal out or something, the oil leaks out but this is the first problem in forever and it was used hard when I got it.
Overall review:
GREAT LITTLE CAR! I got it used very hard so it doesn't look the best, but I wouldn't trade my tempo for anything lol, it's all I need as a high school senior.

Old Reliable
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 03/19/2007.
Trim: 1991 Ford Tempo GL sedan, Owned more than 10 years.
1
Pros:
Indistructable, a tempo is trouble free and will last.
Cons:
Power fuel economy for the size and power of the vehicle.
Overall review:
Would recommend as a "around the town commuter", but would not drive long distances.

A great first car
by Jessica from Canada on 12/26/2004.
Trim: 1991 Ford Tempo L sedan, Owned 5 years.
1
Pros:
It seems to be the vehicle that never dies! I bought the car when I was 17, I am now 22 and it's still going strong.
Cons:
Well, it may be nearly guttless....but it's all I need.
Overall review:
Overall...it's a great everyday vehicle.

Great first car
by Thomas on 11/08/2004.
Trim: 1991 Ford Tempo GL sedan, Owned 4 years.
1
Pros:
Despite having a throttle-happy teenager behind the wheel, the car has held itself together well. Better on gas than some of its competition. Much more torque than most comparable cars. Shares front end parts with earlier model escorts, most parts easily obtainable.
Cons:
Hard to find wheels for (currently uncommon 4inx108mm bolt pattern shared with fox-body fords). Small on power as compared to others, especially considering its displacement. Noisy at highway speeds
Overall review:
Great to car to own, just keep the fluids checked/changed regularly, and it'll last about forever! Great first car for anyone on a budget, the low book value doesn't account for how well these cars respond to routine maintainance.

Teens dream. Well not the styling!!!
by Stephen on 04/11/2004.
Trim: 1991 Ford Tempo L sedan, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
The car is really good on gas. The driver seat sits up high compared to alot of compact cars from its time. Replacement parts are very affordable because Tempo/Topaz were the # 1 selling compact from 1984 to 1994 in Canada.
Cons:
There are no cup holders. The suspention is too soft and causes body lean even in moderate cornering. The 3 speed auto is slugish and races to top gear. ABS was never an option on any models. There is not alot of use of sound proofing materials in the car so on the highway you have to raise your voice to have a conversation.
Overall review:
I would recommend this car for anyone thats on a tight budget. They are very reliable, as long as you don't drive them to hard. I think this is the most reliable car Ford ever produced from the 1990'S.
