Horrible snow ride
by Dissatisfied Jag owner on 12/06/2002.
Trim: 2001 Jaguar XK Series XKR Convertible, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
(No data provided)
Cons:
This car is absolutelly horrible in the slitest snow condition. It has no traction at all. I actually got stuck in a major highway going from NJ to PA. The car's traction feature would not allow any movement. Worst yet, Jag's roadside assistance will not help in taking you out of the predictment stating 'it is a weather related issue' So after 11 hours and $460.00 for a flatbed tow, I'm getting rid of this car. I actually spoke to a dealer who admited this car is no good in the snow. Had I know would I have spent $80k? Absolutely not.
Beautiful car, great for year round summer weather like in florida.
Overall review:
I traded a 97 MB SL500 Convertible and regreat. The seats where much better, seat controls easier to operate with more option and most definitely more confortable.

Anglophile's Pride and Lament
by Winston on 03/05/2001.
Trim: 2001 Jaguar XK Series XK8 Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Sleek design that reeks of British cool and class. Although not quite the "Shaguar" of the 1960's E-Type, the XK8 is a more mature, elegant, and princely GT version of the legendary sports car. Puts to shame Aston Martins and Ferraris as ridiculously overpriced alternatives. Renders near exotic supercar experience without total bankruptcy.
Cons:
Depsite Ford's input, the infamous Jaguar reliability or the lack of, nearly ruins the dreamboat experience of ownership. Be prepared to spend a long time in loaner vehicles as your Jag will be returning again and again to the repair shop quite frequently. Purchasing a used one without some version of a warranty would be financial suicide. JD Powers rating is worthless.
Overall review:
Royal anglophiles will remain loyal subjects to this Defender of the Realm from Coventry, England. However, slaves to Teutonic engineering will be severly disappointed and probably will never attempt to annex England again. If you fell in love with the XK8, no amount of problems with the vehicle will stop you from obtaining one. Jaguar owners do have a streak of masochism about them. But despite its problems, I would never turn to Porsches or Mercedes. They just do not have class.

The Ultimate SUPERCAR
by Bob on 02/03/2013.
Trim: 2001 Jaguar XK Series XKR Silverstone Convertible, Owned 6 years.
Useful?
Pros:
I purchased this Silverstone Convertable in 2007 with 13K miles on it. Replaced the Pirellis with Michelin Pilot Sports and now have 80K on the car with the same tires. It is the finest car I have ever driven and I have driven some great supercars. Reliability is as good as anything, just follow the service advice. Great for touring and very few cars out there can outperform it. I will never get rid of it.
Cons:
Nothing.
Overall review:
If you can find one, buy it. Only 100 Silverstones came to the US, 50 coupes and 50 convertables. The XK 180 as a road car.
