a lot of problem ( must read before you buy!) by Good driver from up-state NY on 02/05/2002. Trim: 2001 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML320, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Style, performance, interior, and everything else are really good.
Cons: too much problem every month, and really bad service from Benz dealar. The worst problem was that the fuel was leaking from side of the tank when I was in the shopping mall. That day was snow and I was waiting for a long time. However, they did not show up until two days later, even though, I gave them a call so many times.
Overall review: Bad after service from any Benz dealars. They don't care after we buy a car.

TOP SUV by SUV from California on 04/21/2001. Trim: 2001 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML320, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Nice interior with wood trim, good handling, automatic with 5 speed electronic transmission, comfortable ride and space, good quality of leather, built for safety and good price for Mercedes. A lot of changes compare to ML1998. ML 320' 01 much nicer interrior.
Cons: Not sure about reliabilty, drink too much gas (takes premium only), gas cap is very akward so hard to put the nozzle, cruise control location is too closed with the turn signal and can click the wrong one, no cruise control light, no climate control and I think Mercedes wants to make a lot of profit. Door lock pins and handles look very very cheap like honda civic.
Overall review: ML320 ' 01 built different than the first one (1998). I think all the problems have been corrected. The ML320 is not built like the rest of Mercedes Model (European Built). The European built is more luxury and use better quality components. But it is acceptable for me and my wife because the interrior has changed so much compared with my brother 1999 ML320. No way we are going to buy the ML320 with the same interrior like the the 1999. We compared this car with Lexus RX300 (nice car but handling is not as good as ML320 , a lady's car, and funny looking console), Acura MDX (noisy at 60 MPH, ride like Honda, waiting list and have to pay above MSRP plus accessories, who wants to buy a car and wait for two months for Honda MDX with different brand) and BMW (too pricy with less features than the ML320, we do not even try to test test drive this car).

Not Bad, Not Great by Tim, Littleton, CO on 03/16/2012. Trim: 2001 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML320, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Vehicle holds 8+ quarts of motor oil, and while that may seem high + be pricy when changing oil, it speaks well of the engineered durability of the engine if you change oil, say every 10,000 with top grade syn oils. I use Amsoil and after 15K it's hardly showing any color change or deterioration. Car seems built to last.
Cons: Fuel mileage with the V6 3.2 limited to 17 mpg in town, acceleration fits a truck, oh that's right, it is a truck!
Overall review: If you want a durable vehicle, this seems to fit. Manufacturer's choice, a 5 speed, should be 6 speed. Ample torque & HP. We purchased the vehicle from my immediate neighbor, so I knew its history, servicing and how it was driven.

Total Disappointment by A CarPoint Consumer on 08/21/2002. Trim: 2001 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML430, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Looks, performance
Cons: bad a/c, small petrol tank, v v bad dealers
Overall review: This is not a merc.... the last car I had was a E-class. Which I bought 2nd hand and drove for 2 years with no problems at all! Only gas & service. So this time the choice was clearly mercedes .... but i have been totally disappointed. It seems to breakdown every 2 months (either a/c or sound system or ....). And somehow the warranty does not cover whatever goes wrong. And the dealers just don't care.
