2001 SAAB 9-5 WILL BEAT MOST BRAND NEW CARS by SAABJINXED on 06/04/2013. Trim: 2001 Saab 9-5 Base, Owned 5 years.
Pros: Fast, high torque, have left Caddies, Bmw's, and Mustangs. Looks nice, looks newer than age buy the body style alone. Fun to drive, and torque steer is bananas!
Cons: Have the starting issue but my genius mechanic installed push button starter. So bypassed!
Overall review: Bought it love it, keeping it = an extinct, distinct street jet!

Proud to drive a Saab by Raffy Grandpa from Bedford on 04/04/2008. Trim: 2001 Saab 9-5 SE, Owned 1 year.
Pros: It's fine clean body line aerodynamic, classy appearance looks so appealing. Performance very dependable acceleration good with the turbo charged engine. I like the unique positioning of the ignitiion key. The dasboard is impressive, easy to read instrument panel. Makes me feel like I have the most expensive vehicle around town. Feels and looks so safe to be in.
Cons: The negative things I have about this car is gas consumption on city driving. Maintenance expense though seldom needed.
Overall review: Car is reliable, fun to drive, good looking even when it is just parked with other car of it's class.

NOT a Saab Story! by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/30/2008. Trim: 2001 Saab 9-5 Base, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Great interior, console is well organized, and the backseat and trunk are roomy. Lines on exterior are clean and help the car to look newer than it actually is.
Cons: The radio/clock display usually has some pixels missing, but it is inexpensive to fix. No rear windshield wiper, and more compartments in the console would allow for better organization.
Overall review: This is a really great used car if you can find one that has had the oil changed regularly. There was a sludge issue that ended in a recall for alot of vehicles of this year, so be careful. This car is a great car, as long as you know what you're getting into. This car has fair reliability compared to Japanese cars today, but if you like the car enough, it won't matter. People who own Saab's realize that the beauty, comfort, and SAFETY outweigh the maintenance costs.

So much fun for an amazing price by SAAB Fan SLC, UT on 01/26/2008. Trim: 2001 Saab 9-5 Base, Owned 3 years.
Pros: I have owned this car for 3 years now (for some reason it states that I have only owned the car for less than one year in the heading) and I still love it. I have onwed one SAAB previous to this one. I am in college and the car definitely shows as if it were much more expensive than it really was. It has a total of 65,000 miles on it and I have only had one problem since owning it, and it was covered by a recall. It has a style that you will never get sick of and is really fun to drive. The interior is ergonomically pleasing and is very luxurious.
Cons: The dealership in Utah is full of incompetent idiots. (find a local mechanic who can fix them)
Overall review: Get one! You will not be disappointed. If you live in Utah, Boyd's Auto is the best place to take it to get fixed.
