Luxury and Performance had a baby, they named it the XG300
by Jack Bauer on 02/25/2009.
Trim: 2001 Hyundai XG300 Base, Owned 9 years.

Pros:
The Hyundai XG300 handles very well. The engine is extremely smooth and it feels like I'm driving on a cloud. The transmission shifts very nicely. The brakes work well and the steering is great. The engine is decently powerful pushing 194hp. I put intake in my Hyundai XG300 and it runs even faster. Every girl I have had in the Hyundai loves it, some girls even though it was a Mercedes. Yes the interior is very nice. It's big inside. It has leather seats and wood grain. When it's cold the XG300 heats up/cools down very quickly and the rear heating/ac unit heats/cools the car up less than a minute. The stock bass is also very nice. If you take care of this car it will take care of you.
Cons:
The electrical system is flawed in the XG300. It's not a serious issue but it has to be addressed. Another issue is body rot inside the XG300. The Hyundai XG300 has a serious design flaw which the body of the car rots. It is LIFE THREATENING. The nice thing is the Hyundai dealership fixed it for free. Going at speeds of 85mph the XG300 has body roll. The XG300 has body roll issues because it's a heavy car and the stock suspension isn't the best. If you want to hook this baby up like me, the car battery is in the way and some custom additions you add on to make this car faster may take longer due to a cluttered engine space. The shiftronic transmission doesn't shift well.
Overall review:
The Hyundai XG300 has a lot of space, nice luxurious look, smooth engine, great handling, heats up and cools off quick, comfortable inside and its engine has enough power to satisfy most people (even a faster driver like me). Great car to take women/girls to dates. The stock system in the car is very nice. Some people think I have bass woofers in the back.
Watch out though! The XG300 isn't perfect but the problems can be fixed! This is a 2001 Hyundai, that is the year Hyundais slipped with quality.
I have driven in this car for over 10 years, take my word for it, it's a great car.

Pros:
Big interior, Great features inside, Handles easily, Pretty good pickup, Not a racecar but definitely fast enough, I Love My Moonroof :-)
Cons:
Breaks took getting used to, Price
Overall review:
It's a fun car, because it looks nice and handles great. I traded in my Hyundai Accent, and the only problem is that the trade in values of Hyundais are not that great. I was somehow able to finance it myself, and given my credit, that's hard to believe. I would recomend this car to anyone wanting a nice car that costs much less than a Lexus or higher priced brand name. Hyundais are really great for first time buyers and this one made me very happy driving it off the lot.

A happy owner
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 12/11/2006.
Trim: 2001 Hyundai XG300 L, Owned 5 years.

Pros:
Whats not to like, people call it the baby Lincoln. From a styling point it looks a little like a Lincoln, just not the Lincoln price. My first real problem came at 150,000 miles with a transmission sensor. For the miles this was not bad. At 160,000 miles it's still going strong. I've had it from day one. It's been a great car and I'll probably have it for another couple years.
Cons:
Overall I can't really say I dislike anything. When I look at the cars in it's class this is a great car. The initial price was a little high for 2001, but in the long run I got my moneys worth.
Overall review:
I highly regard this car and it has lived up to my expectations. I would buy it again.

Nice ride
by BBooth86 on 08/08/2006.

Pros:
Great fit and finish, more standard features than ANY car I have ever owned, smooth ride, handling, power, etc. very comfortable, every luxury feature you might want (heated seats, memory seats, power everything, climate control, rear A/C, CD changer, sunroof, leather, wood steering wheel) I LOVE THIS CAR!!
Cons:
Fuel economy, on about 22 MPG or so. and costs $50 to fill. a V8 gets about 18MPG, and is faster. it doesnt NEED a V8, but it might be cool.
Overall review:
Great car, got a WAY good deal on it!! why is everyone complaining about the power, it has plenty of get up and go, and it sounds great when flying down the road.
