Wish I got the R by An MSN Autos Consumer on 08/17/2011. Trim: 2001 Volvo S60 2.4T, Owned 10 years.
Pros: The engine never has any problems and after 10 years has not lost any power. A very comfortable car with lots of features. The car now has 150,000 miles on it but still feels like it did when it was brand new. Acceleration from 35 up is fantastic, it can keep up with cars that have more horses!
Cons: The handling is not the best, it gets a lot of understeer. Had to replace alternator and radiator I've had no other problems though. Acceleration from 0 to 35 feels a bit weak, always beaten off the line.
Overall review: I wish i had gotten an S60 R but i didn't have the funds at the time. That said it's still a great car that ived used as a family car and could put a smile on my face when I put my foot down.

An ok ride by Scott on 02/08/2002. Trim: 2001 Volvo S60 Base, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Styling, Gas mileage has been great, Front seat comfort, Trunk size. The dealer is pleasent to work with.
Cons: Problems with the automatic transmission shifting in to 3rd gear. Dealer had to replace the transmission after 3 trips to the shop. Plastic trim on the dash sometimes rattles. Too stiff of a ride.
Overall review: Nice car compared to the Ford Crown Vic Loaner from the Volvo dealer. Still needs some refinement.

Fashion Forward Design with Attention to Detail by Marc Allan, Phoenix on 02/27/2002. Trim: 2001 Volvo S60 2.4T, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Exceptional Attention to Detail. Very Responsive Engine. Amazing Sound System. Extremely Comfortable Seats, Even While Taking Full Day Excursions. Modest Price for the Features and Style.
Cons: The headrest, which tends to force your head forward, can take some getting used to. The service departments at most Volvo dealerships try to convince you that you need services you do not. Additionally, I have found that most service persons do not have a clue about the maintenance schedules for the S60. Have had a few rattles which the service department seems reluctant to tackle.
Overall review: If you want a fashion forward car where everyone looks twice, then this is your car!
