Awesome by OMatera from Sterling on 06/24/2005. Trim: 2001 Pontiac Montana 1SH, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I am a young mom and I love it. I still feel like a young mom driving my awesome Montana. The style of the van is very nice looking, and definitely not old ladyish at all!!!!
Cons: My van only has one power liding door and I think they either both should be powered or none!!!
Overall review: The Montana is an awesome van all the way around

You get what you pay for. by Inference on 09/10/2001. Trim: 2001 Pontiac Montana 1SB, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: The handling of the vehicle is good - considering it is a mini-van. The fuel mileage of the vechicle is excellent.
Cons: The brakes tend to devevlop a squel - if you drive the vehicle "softly". As described by the dealership - you need to be aggressive with the brakes on regular occasion (i.e. hard stops to brandish) - not exactly my preference in driving style for a vehicle of this type. Been to the dealership several times for fit and finish details that should have been resolved in assembly. Eletrical connection challenges seem to be a common problem for this vehicle.
Overall review: As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" - and that is an excellent way to describe the vehicle. Never thought i was biased towards imports but it should appear that i am. Depending on how long you keep your vehicles and patience with the service quality - make sure you purchase from a "good dealership". Having dealt with Toyota, Mazda and Volkswagen - GM has a lot to learn about service quality and customer care (or this could just be my dealership).

GM owner no more. by Kyle from Indy on 01/02/2011. Trim: 2001 Pontiac Montana 1SF, Owned 10 years.
Pros: Lots of room and comfortable on long trips. Decent gas mileage for this size van with seating for 8.
Cons: Where to start. Transmission rebuilt and head gaskets replaced under 36,000 miles while still under warranty. At 100,000, I had to replace the condensor, 120,000 I replaced the starter and had the ignition wires replaced for issues with the van not wanting to shutoff when the key was turned off. Then at 130,000 had to have the transmission rebuilt. 140,000 it started running rough and making lots of clunks when turning and taking off from a start. Just unloaded it for a new Hyundai. I don't own any GM anymore. I keep all my cars at least till they hit 200,000. This is the first one in the last 7 I owned that hasn't made it. Hope GM will get their act together.
Overall review: Lots of room and nice ride but poor reliability.
