"Keeping the Faith" by Keys from Ontario, Canada on 11/28/2011. Trim: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Sedan, Owned 3 years.

Pros: Styling is very nice. I like the look of the car. Seats are comfortable and there is lots of room for the kids in the back seat. The performance has been good. Very good acceleration and handling. Comfortable ride.
Cons: I'm only 5'8", and I have very little head room. Got this vehicle used as a second car in 2008. It had 132K, and is now at 201K. Have had to replace the brakes, new head lights as thay had gone yellow on the inside. Had to replace the starter and catalytic converter at 156K. The interior roof cloth is coming off at the rear window. Check engine light is always on for the gas tank. Gas gage does not work any more (shows full tank when it is really at 1/4). LED display for radio/clock not working. Does not handle well in the snow (even with brand new Goodyear winter tires).
Overall review: Although it has been a good vehicle to date, I will not be buying another one when I'm done with this one. Will drive it to the ground, then say good-by. This has been my 3rd Pontiac, GM does not stand behind their products. Going back to Ford!!

Good..... I mean Great car!!!!! by Earl on 10/17/2008. Trim: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix SE Sedan, Owned 6 years.
1
Pros: The styling is the best that I have seen in a long time. I teally looked for this car when I decided to buy mine in 2002 and have had it ever since.
Cons: probably biggest issue is resale value, but.... typically used as fleet cars, there are lots of them around!!!
Overall review: I would recommend this auto to anyone... while there are some "lemons" out there... this has been an outstanding car. We spent some money on it but I have 180K and would drive this car across the country more than once and not worry.

THE BEST CAR EVER! by Joani from the Midwest/Nebraska on 07/17/2008. Trim: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Coupe, Owned 7 years.
1
Pros: The 2 door GT coupe is very stylish and probably the best looking car GM has ever manufactured. My V6 gets great gas mileage, we've had timely service work done to keep it running right - so we have not no complaints in the engine department.
Cons: No complaints at all - I only wish I could duplicate my 2001 Grand Prix GT when we purchase a new car. I really would like to keep this car forever - as I love the 2 door - the front wheel drive and the beautiful look of it.
Overall review: The best car EVER! I only wish GM would go back and re-make the Grand Prix and forget the G8 - there are alot of us who want front wheel drive and 2 doors!

BEWARE OF THIS MONEY PIT! by Michael on 06/05/2008. Trim: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Sedan, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: Nice, roomy interior. Car looks nice, paint has been good.
Cons: High cost of repairs. We have owned the car for app. 1 1/2 years. Just in the last 2 months had 3 major repairs. First the calipers seized up and had to replace the calipers, rotors, and brake pads at a cost of about $550. Then this month noticed the car was not shifting above 4,000 rpms and check engine light came on. Took it into the dealership and they said the catalytic converter was bad and also the air pump was full of water and had to be replaced. We had 79,200 miles on it so we were lucky that the warrranty on the converter was good until 80,000 miles, but would have cost $700-$800 to fix. We had to pay $600 just for the air pump. The bearings and EGR valve went at 65k.
Overall review: Do not buy any GM car! This was our last GM car we will own. Have had several in the past and all have been nothing but repairs. I have a 97 Subaru Outback with 100k and never had any problems. I also just bought a 06 Corolla and am going to sell the Grand Prix, if anyone will buy it. I will stick with so called foreign cars.
