Smyrna? Did someone say Smyrna? by An MSN Autos Consumer on 12/13/2008. Trim: 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE, Owned 4 years.
Pros: BULLETPROOF little car! Disappointed to see that MSN Autos claimed this vehicle built in Smyrna Tennessee...actually built in Mexico. 4 Years of trouble free motoring aside from front control arm bushings. Just change the oil and go! Been on several long trips without incident. Put over 100,000 miles on it and had the check engine light come on ONCE...(gas cap- under $20 to replace). Has better road capability than a Honda, cheaper to run than a Toyota...would recommend this car as a buy to anyone!
Cons: Factory stereo completely inadequate...upgrade to an aftermarket head unit!
Overall review: Will easily get another 100,000 miles of economical motoring from my Sentra!

Finally a good car! by Amanda from Tulsa on 09/20/2005. Trim: 2001 Nissan Sentra SE, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: It handles great, gets pretty good gas mileage. I love the color, it's the prettiest blue ever! It's such a nice car.
Cons: Day I bought it the throttle positioning sensor broke and the clock screen doesn't always light up. Also, the change holder under the steering wheel, almost everytime I open it I pull it off accidentally. I also wish I could pull down the seats to the trunk from the inside.
Overall review: I *LOVE* this car! Except for not being able to see the clock at night (really annoying, but I think it's just a fuse) I think it's a really great car! It's actually made me hate driving less.

Nissan Sentra AWESOME by Miagooch from Philly on 01/08/2014. Trim: 2001 Nissan Sentra SE, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: This is my 3rd Nissan Sentra. I decided to stay with Nissan due to the quality of the last 2 models. The upgrades to the 2001 were surprising. The 2.0 manual was surprising in its acceleration. Have had very few problems with this car since I bought it new. The interior is roomy, as is the trunk. The handling has been nice, considering it is the low end of the Nissan family. Overall this car has been a great investment and has been no real problem or concern when out on the road.
Cons: The dual rear seats are odd when down because it has a cave-like tunnel from trunk to inside, making it hard to transport larger objects when need be. The downside, if it is really one, are the tires. They are an odd size that is hard to find, especially during the Winter. And their cost was nearly double what the 1998 model was. My previous model.
Overall review: Very high. Would consider another Nissan Sentra if I needed to purchase another vehicle.

The first new car I ever owned by Pittsburgh Annie on 01/14/2008. Trim: 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE, Owned 6 years.
Pros: I have had no major problems with this vehicle in the 5 years I've owned it. By major problems, I mean costly engine, transmission, etc. (although there was a recall on it) I have taken this car on plenty of roadtrips totaling over 15,000 miles, and she never gave me a problem. Not to mention it was comfortable to sit in on those 12 hour trips.
Cons: Minor problems that I could live with were: Radio light only turns on when it wants to, shifter light is out, and the window motor had a little trouble (which the dealership fixed for free, and gave me a free rental to use for the day they kept it in the shop). One thing that did happen, was that the car completely shut off on me while I was driving. Come to find out there were 2 recalls on it- but the repairs were free, and I've had no problems since.
Overall review: Like I said- no major problems that I couldn't deal with. I lost my sentra to an accident, and even though I don't want to feel like I'm in the same car when I buy a new one..... I know it was good to me. The car buying world is tough, and I think it's a hit or miss every time.
