The last wagon of its kind by Brandon from Akron, Ohio on 07/18/2005. Trim: 2001 Mercury Sable Wagon LS Premium, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Love the features. Mach audio w/6CD. Leather. Auto Climate control.
Cons: Not a smooth accelerating motor. (Duratec). Do not team up with GoodYear Assurance tires. They hummmmm.
Overall review: The last of it's kind. Ford discontinued it's Taurus/Sable wagon program this year.

A Wagon that Works by George from Bucks County, PA on 08/20/2004. Trim: 2001 Mercury Sable Wagon LS Premium, Owned 3 years.
Pros: I bought the Sable Wagon for its versatility. It converts easily to carry loads from the garden store, but is also a comfortable ride for up to four passengers. The car is parked outside all year and has retained its exterior appearance and finish. The adjustable brake/gas pedals and the cruise control on the steering wheel are convenient extras.
Cons: Not much. The brakes are a bit mushy, but otherwise work okay. The power seat has a manual control for the seat back; it should also be powered. There have been three recalls; none of major consequence. The front wheel drive traction is marginal in wet and icy conditions, even with the traction control.
Overall review: The Sable Wagon is a suitable choice for someone who wants the versatility of a vehicle that has sedan comfort and can be used for those light hauling jobs that the average homeowner encounters. The Premium package provides those extras that car buyers are most interested in. Fuel milage around town is about 18 mpg, but it does much better on the hiway, reaching 27mpg on long trips. Maintenance and repair costs were within expected limits

Sable Wagon #2 by ms. maggie from Boston, MA on 07/27/2002. Trim: 2001 Mercury Sable Wagon GS, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Great family vehicle. Plenty of room for my family of 5 plus two dogs.
Cons: My previous car was also a sable wagon, which I loved. I have only one complaint so far and that is the passenger seat. The back is so much taller than the old ones and it makes seeing out to the right very tricky, especially if you have passengers.
Overall review: pretty good car for the money. sharp looking.
