Pros:
Great little car.
VR6 is the BEST engine VW makes.
Amazing amount of space.
Most comfortable seats in the VW line up.
Cons:
Looks like a roller skate

Pros:
Interior and exterior finish is first rate.For the price the options are second to none. The engine is a Tuners dream. A very hot car for the money.
Cons:
The handling is a bit soft off the showroom floor, but thats easially
corrected.
Overall review:
First rate vehicle, any problems have been corrected by the dealership and VWOA before they became a problem. This is my third VW, will probably be looking for my fourth in a few years.

Pros:
Great options for after-market upgrades to the 1.8 turbo engine.
Cons:
Getting abit pricey and too big.
Overall review:
Great car for starting out. Cheap too upgrade. ECU chip adds a lot of horsepower for the 1.8 turbo for around $500. My car now has 209 bhp and 242 lbs./ft. torque!!

Pros:
The 1.8 turbo is definately one of the funnest cars I have driven. The best part about it is that I can still fit 4 adults into it, while still having the feel of a quick car.
Cons:
The turbo could use a little more power. The price of parts on it are expensive.
Overall review:
My dad has owned a car dealership for over 20 years, so I have driven my fair share of cars. Of all the cars I have driven, the GTi is by far my all around favorite. It has a nice interior, eye catching exterior, and will surprise even a Mustang GT off the line. But if you need maintenance on it, prepare to spend more than you wish for.

beware used car buyers

Pros:
Hot car! Its really styled nicely and its a really cool car..
Cons:
When it starts breaking.. (before my pitiful 1-year warrenty ended) Its hard to catch up with all of the problems when it gets out of control. I've had the car less than a year and they keyless entry is already messed up, the air conditioning gets cold for about a minuet and then it turns into heat, and the heated mirror is melting and it no longer moves.
Overall review:
Buy it new, use it for about 5 years and trade it in as fast as you can.
