The best wagon period by Chad, from Knoxville on 04/24/2012. Trim: 2001 Ford Focus Wagon SE, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I like the gas mileage. I get around 33 to 34 on the interstate. I drive 60K miles a year. I like the size of the wagon. I am a photographer and it easily holds almost as much equipment as my old Suburban does. Of course no one can sit up front. though. I love the High beams on this car. Stereo sound is great and loud. Better than most factory speakers. The wagon slices through Big truck blowbacks when passing .When everything is in check this car rides smooth and handles great. I love the price when bought used. It has 224,000 miles and climbing. If the engine goes I can have one installed for about $500. Parts are pretty cheap, and and can be easily found at junkyards.
Cons: I fix my own cars. I find certain things hard to get at to turn a wrench. Things that must be replaced are the sway bar links. The factory sealed type don't last as long as the ones with grease fittings. The Strut mounts must be changed also after 100K miles. Things like the Idle Air Control valve is super hard to get at. Most IAC are found and fixed easily. Not this one. Timing belt must be changed every 100K miles and it can be a little difficult to find someone to do it other than the dealership. Breaks do squeek, and little creaks from dry rotted carriage bushings can bother you. Just replace them as needed. Nothing major.
Overall review: For the price, gas mileage, the cargo space, and the stereo, this wagon is perfect for me to make money in and not be too uncomfortable. As gas prices increase I have noticed the used car value is steady for this car and people want it. You just can't beat this car in class. And the wagons are getting harder to find.

I love my Focus wagon by mikey, Los Angeles, CA on 09/15/2005. Trim: 2001 Ford Focus Wagon SE, Owned 4 years.
Pros: Affordable price, useful cargo space, well/fair performance, good gas miliage, very good power/transmission quality and relibility, excellent everyday commuting vehicle.
Cons: Ride and handling is a bit hash at freeway speed. Brake is good but noisy. Quality on little decoration and accessories are not controlled well. Gas miliage could be even better comparing with Japanese cars.
Overall review: A best small wagon in its class considering price, space and gas economy with fair performance. If you hate the high gas price while can not give up the space provided by an SUV, a small wagon like this one is your best choice. Relibility is excellent, at least this is true for mine Focus Wagon.

Pros: Spacious, reliable, easy to drive. Great
Cons: Not a great comfort car for the long haul. Not allot of power but will get up and go on the beltway.
Overall review: Would buy again. Great city car with lots of room. Great option to the mini-van.
