Concept Car For The Masses by John on 04/12/2004. Trim: 2001 Audi TT Roadster quattro, Owned 3 years.
Pros: The interior (with baseball optic leather) is outstanding!! Coupled with exterior, this is a design study/concept car brought to life - with virtually no compromises. Seats are comfortable. Handling is neutral and very predictable. Brakes are excellent - with wonderful progressive feel. Acceleration is excellent and I still get highway milage in the 25 - 30 mpg range..
Cons: Trunk (ha ha) is too small. Not enough places to stash things in the car. Roof should have interior liner. Toneau cover should be automatic - having to manually install and take off is a pain - also, it takes up valuable trunk space - this is the first convertible that I have owned where there is more trunk space with the top down than with it up, as a result.
Overall review: This is a great roadster. Not really a hard-core sports car - but still delivers 85% of the performance of a Prosche 911 at 1/3 the price. The TT is a real head-turner - gets more stares than anything I have ever owned including 300ZX, Saab Convertibles and a Jag XJ8.

Beats everything in it's class by An MSN Autos Consumer on 02/28/2004. Trim: 2001 Audi TT Coupe quattro, Owned 3 years.
Pros: It really turns heads.. excellent handling. Good everyday car.
Cons: It's very heavy! Performance would be better if it were lighter. Also, the new models don't really over much advantages... the v6 engine should be more than 250 hp!
Overall review: It's the only car I'd consider buying again!

Audi TT 225 Coupe: Still Impressed After Almost 2 Years by Steve in Washington, D.C. on 10/28/2002. Trim: 2001 Audi TT Coupe quattro, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Despite being a small coupe, the rear seating area actually makes the car seem more spacious than it is. From a design perspective, both the interior and exterior are well executed and the overall quality of worksmanship and materials is quite high. For these reasons, the TT is quite unique among its competitors; it exhibits the uniqueness and exclusivity of GT-type cars costing much more.
Cons: It's difficult to find much to complain about. Perhaps the spoiler should be optional for those who don't think that it does anything for the overall design (since it was not part of the original design). Otherwise, I suppose a few other little extra electrical "gizmos", i.e. power seats, etc., could be included, but these might convey a kind of pretensiousness that the car does not currently convey.
Overall review: The Audi TT 225 Coupe is fun to drive, even within existing speed limits. The 6-speed manual is easy to operate, and provides a lot of "self-assurance" when needed. I haven't driven the competitors, but have only owned standard shift automobiles; this one is far more sophisticated in terms of responsiveness and the overall smoothness of the transmission. It's an automobile to be treated with respect and a sense of privilege that comes with owning such a unique product. I've read a lot of commentary about the responsiveness of the turbo-charged engine, the quattro AWD system, and the brakes. On the engine, most people don't take off from a traffic light as if they were going to the moon. As for quattro, it's simple amazing--as if the wheels are on rails when needed. The brakes are simply great--there's no other way to describe them. In fact, once you have driven the TT, you will have problems adjusting to the brakes in other cars that you may own.
