Good Value
by Ellie from Ontario, Canada on 03/16/2005.
Trim: 2000 Suzuki Vitara JS 4-Door, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
Reliability, reliability, reliability. Like the eveready bunny, it just keeps going. In my snowy climate, the 4wheel drive is a lifesaver. Best value SUV in its class. An it's a good looking vehicle, too.
Cons:
The heating/cooling system is not as strong as i'd like. And the interior finishing is a bit cheap.
Overall review:
Still love the Vitara...its my third in a row. It gets me where I need with a minimum problems. An affordable SUV. Recommend it!

I wont change it as long as I live in FL
by abe, FL on 10/11/2004.
Trim: 2000 Suzuki Vitara JLS 2.0 2-Door, Owned 4 years.
1
Pros:
It's great for S. FL driving. It's good on gas, compact and easy to drive and to park. Runs well on the road. I have not had an engen or trani problem in 4 years. U turns, no problem.
Cons:
Not many upgrade options. Wind afects the performance on the freeway. 3rd gear. You need to be creative when storing items in the trunk space.
Overall review:
It's a great car for singles or couples. Road trips are fun on this small truck.

Not for serious driving
by Jay from Tampa Florida on 08/02/2001.
Trim: 2000 Suzuki Vitara JS 1.6 2-Door, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
Fun and easy to drive. Turns on a dime.
Cons:
Poor handling in wind. Rain makes braking very difficult. Not for inexpierenced drivers to overcome slides from poor braking and sideways movement caused by the wind.
Overall review:
Ok for putting the top down and riding to the beach. NOT for a serious driver to use on a regular basis back and forth to work. Braking is very poor on wet surfaces and the wind moves it from lane to lane. A young or inexpierenced driver is more likely to lose control under some circumstances.

Mountain Girl says buy SUZUKI
by Mountain Girl from Virginia on 04/20/2001.
Trim: 2000 Suzuki Vitara JLX 4-Door, Owned 2 years.
1
Pros:
Terrific style with a personality all it's own. Mom of three has ample room for the kids, the football, the baseball and a hefty load of groceries. Great roadability, drives like a small car minus the power. Handles the backroads well. I will likely never own a "car" again and would definatley buy Suzuki more than twice.
Cons:
Okay, so the engine is noisy - AGREED but at the very most it's only mildy annoying. The brakes could use some improvement. The mild power is not what I expected but then again I bought an SUV, not a sports car. (I didn't know I needed to drive 90 mph in the mountain...egads!) For what it is and what it's for....I can't say much against it.....If you want power buy a Corvette....if you want power AND ruggedness....buy a Tank....otherwise...just buy the Vitara :)
Overall review:
Buy the time mine wears out .....will you still make this great little SUV????
