Range Rover, Mostly good by Leigh, Australia on 06/04/2010. Trim: 2000 Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 HSE, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Air suspension is great, use it more than I thought I would, very usefull for getting big dogs in the back. Goes faster than I expected it to, its a big heavy beast. go off road regularly, if you do to this is the only car to own, its abilities are simply out of this world, get to the top of a climb calm and relaxed, wait 5 mins then get on the radio to see where everyone else is, they were stuck! Great driving position and excellent visibility plus very comfy cabin
Cons: costs a bit to keep maintained, and little annoying things can go wrong without warning, worth looking at internet forums for fixes to keep costs down, nothing has stopped it though! Worst thing about the range rover is all the people who've never owned one telling you how bad they are, I will keep mine till fuel runs out or I do!
Overall review: If you go off road you owe it to yourself to at least drive one, if not, give it a try anyway, the airbag suspention makes for a magic carpet ride, just make sure you have some money left over after you buy, you'll need it!

Land Rover... There is no substitute if you have deep pockets. by PhD_Chemist on 07/26/2009. Trim: 2000 Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 HSE, Owned 9 years.
Pros: The styling and material quality are at very high standards. This vehicle is like the Rolls Royce of SUVs. We've never had a breakdown or been stranded in 122,000 miles of ownership, but we maintain our vehicles impeccably.
Cons: Get the extended warranty and use it as much as necessary and/or possible. Dealerships are extremely expensive and will want to repair anything that has even the slightest wear. Once out of warranty, find yourself a good independent mechanic that knows Land Rovers. Be "old-school" with your maintenance. Change the oil every 3000 miles, change the diff and transmission fluids every 15,000 miles, get tune-ups every 15,000 miles, and change all the belts and hoses (including thermostat and water pump) every 50,000 miles. By following that simple maintenance regimen, you should experience a minimum amount of problems.
Overall review: From my experience, Land Rovers are some of the best built vehicles on the planet. The biggest problem I see with most owners is lack of knowledge of how maintain a vehicle and a general mis-understanding of the maintenance costs expected with a luxury or well built vehicle. If a vehicle costs $80,000-$100,000 new, expect the maintenance costs to be high. Well built parts cost extra money to replace. I would highly recommend anyone planning to own a luxury vehicle to be able to set aside approximately 1/15 the original retail cost of the vehicle per year for proper maintenance if driven in excess of 15,000 miles per year. If you really want to be conservative, set aside 1/10th of the original retail cost.

Will not purchase another by TJ from Philly on 04/11/2007. Trim: 2000 Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 HSE, Owned 3 years.
Pros: The interior is comfortable and stylish. I like other options such as the navigation system, power/heated seats, and the power mirrors. The access through the rear hatch which opens from the bottom and top is great.
Cons: The maintenance is high. Customer service stinks at the dealership closest to me. I've replaced the O2 sensors twice, water pump twice, driveshaft, and valve cover in the past two years.
Overall review: I thought the quality/reliability would be better. Seems like the 2000 RR is not doing well in the ratings.

Looks goods when it runs by Andyman on 12/18/2006. Trim: 2000 Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 HSE, Owned 3 years.
Pros: A lot of bells and whistles. The air suspension is neat when it works. Great visibility thanks to large windows. You can drive it up a mountain, (except in deep snow, the weight tends to make it sink fast) It is a great looking car.
Cons: It's always in the shop. In 2 years I spent twice the value of the vehicle on repairs. RR service is unreliable. The folks are friendly, but it usually takes them 3 or 4 tries to fix a problem.
Overall review: This is the siren of SUV's. The looks draw you in but the reliablity will sink you. Beware
