Great Saturn by Saturn From PA on 05/06/2011. Trim: 2000 Saturn SW2, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: Love the car and know the reliability of Saturn. Great steering. Much better then previous years of Saturns. 130,000 miles and been ridiculously reliable.
Cons: The automatic window for the driver side, the auto down feature keeps failing! The rear cargo area in the wagon seems a little smaller than sedan and coupe versions. Those are the only two cons i have!
Overall review: Great car, even better if you take care of it! If you need full size wagon, i wouldn't recommend. This is a compact sedan wagon. Its basically a hatch back sedan.

Mixed feelings by Joseph from Ellicott City, MD on 12/18/2001. Trim: 2000 Saturn SW2, Owned 2 years.
1
Pros: Solid wagon style car and seems backed by a first rate dealer organization. Good durable finish outside and nice interior. Seems easy on tires, but that may be the qualiity of the Firestone (of all things) tires. Ride/handling quality is first rate.
Cons: I was led to believe that this car would go 200,000 miles. It will if you will accept the idea of a complete engine rebuild at 95,000 miles. Every owner (at least 50) I have talked to had the same problem with Saturn: the engine burns oil at an unacceptable level as it approaches the 100,000 mile mark. Owner has to either rebuld the engine at about $2800 (as I did) or get rid of it (as my son did). I hope that Saturn is listening. I now have 145,000 miles and problem seems to have been "solved". But my second hand '85 Chevette did better than that.
Overall review: If I could be assured that the oil burning problem has been corrected, I would get another Saturn even though they have discontinued the smaller wagon. It is a difficult car to like and hate as it is comfortable to ride (much more than my Honda) but the oil comsumption problem is a big negative.

2000 Saturn SW2 by copper_45 on 01/06/2005. Trim: 2000 Saturn SW2, Owned 5 years.
Useful?
Pros: The 2000 SW2 is a well thought out compact station wagon that provides yet another option for the small family. The enterior of the vehicle is ergonomic with alot of thought for the ocupants of the vehicle.
Cons: As always, when dealing with Saturn if you want options get out your check book. The base model is poorly equiped with options in comparison to othe companies. Also the steering on this model is pehaps a lille too resposive.
Overall review: Overall a clean compact wagon with smooth acceleation and good breaking. The makers of Saturn should look at adding some more features to their base vehicles in order to stay competitive in a tough market.

Not a very reliable car. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 11/20/2004. Trim: 2000 Saturn SW2, Owned 4 years.
Useful?
Pros: Inexpensive. Okay Performance. Nice look. Saturn has great service, but, sadly, you need it, as the car has huge reliability issues.
Cons: Our SW 2000 has had major problems and convinced us not to look at a Saturn for our next car. While the overall look and basic performance of the cars is okay, in terms of reliability and repairs it's a nightmare. I wish we had spent a little more and gone with a Subaru. After hitting 4 years, with less than 30,000 miles, the car has become unreliable. A CO2 leak into the passenger area, a break problem, a failure in the steering column and the red, positive, terminal on the battery actually fell off causing acid to leak into the engine compartment. To top it off the battery could not be removed without special tools and the car had to be towed.
Overall review: Look at a Subaru first.

Cheap and Reliable But NOISY by JKG in St. Louis on 03/23/2004. Trim: 2000 Saturn SW2, Owned 2 years.
Useful?
Pros: Good acceleration and handling, great sound system. Have had no problems with the engine, car has been very reliable mechanically. Comfortable seats, smooth ride.
Cons: Continuous problems with the brake rotors warping, braking is very jerky. Biggest problem is interior quality, this car has so many squeaks and rattles, no wonder they put in a premium sound system, they needed to cover up the noise. The dashboard, doors, windows all rattle.
Overall review: I bought mine with only 10,000 miles on it for $9500, but its resale value is poor. If you are looking for cheap, reliable transportation, and don't mind the noise, it might work for you. However, the Toyota and Honda I owned previously were much better quality.
