Great reliable car with good gas mileage by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/03/2013. Trim: 2000 Saturn SL2, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Great gas mileage. Average around 26mpg driving in the city.
Cons: It's not the quietest of cars but not bad for a compact. It was quiter than the VW or Honda.
Overall review: Hardly had any problems over the past 12.5 years. Cost a lot for work done at the dealership. Must be for all those free donuts and car wash.

clunker by tom on 06/16/2008. Trim: 2000 Saturn SL1, Owned 8 years.
Pros: gas mileage is good ac works good
Cons: seats are to low, door handles stick, even though they have been kept properly lubed. have had to change all 4 wheel bearings, wp, fuel pump, radiater fan, heater fan, brakes 3 times, with rotors all 3 times, motor and transmission have also had to be replaced within 3 months of each other, ignition switch @ $ 137 bucks funny how a chevy ignition tumbler is $ 14 ,saturn made by gm $ 137 both tie rod ends $37 each gm $14 each
Overall review: biggest mistake by gm since the corvairs that would catch on fire just sitting in your garage do to such poor wireing design

A decent auto for a buyer on a tight budget by Ryan, Toronto, On on 09/01/2007. Trim: 2000 Saturn SL1, Owned 7 years.
Pros: This car is great on gas. Dent resistant panels are a bonus in the summer, however, my door was once hit by a rock on the highway in the winter during -20 C weather. The door panel shattered, it cost $900 CAN to replace. Even though it was under warranty, the dealership would not fix it. With a manuel transmission, I found it did very well in the snow. The car held up very well during a serious collision.
Cons: It looks pretty bad, both inside and out. The materials look and feel cheap. The exeleration is pretty bad too, you should expect to have to drop down two gears to get up a hill.
Overall review: I owned this car for over 6 years, and put 140 000kms on it. It only gave me problems once, it would not start due to a rotten battery cable. I was hit from the rear while driving this car, by a cavelier driviing at high rate of speed. I was knocked into the car in front of me, which caused the air bags to go off. All three cars were completely destroyed, however the cockpit of the saturn maintained its integrity and I was not injured. I would highly recommend this car for someone looking for a cheap, safe, reliable car, that is good on gas, but completely lacks any style or frills.
