Great Car by Letitbecollins from Millersville, PA on 10/22/2009. Trim: 1988 Ford Taurus LX, Owned 3 years.
Pros: There are to many to list. V-6 engine, all power seats, power windows and locks even powered mirrors. The headlights turned on automatically so there is no need to worry about leaving them on. When it is locked just pull the handle and it lights up around the key hole. The speakers are amazing. Comfortable interior and very roomy. It drives like a charm, no problems with the engine, gas mileage was about 20mpg which was really good for 1988. Trunk had plenty of room never had a problem with to much items in it. The car drove well in snow and ice.
Cons: The only major problem was that i got the car after it sat in a garage for 10 years and from what i understand that could be one of the reasons the trans went out around 88,000.
Overall review: Great car but dont buy one now if its priced over 2,000. Other than that its worth it. The car will take car of you, only if you take car of the car.

The lemon or the norm... you decide... by Kenny, Fl on 03/16/2005. Trim: 1988 Ford Taurus GL, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: I like nothing other than it gets me to where i am going most of the time.
Cons: I dislike the fuel economy (12 MPG) the air compressor breaks faster than i can afford to replace it. This vehicle goes through brake shoes faster than i have ever seen. It developes mechanicle problems that no mechanic anywhere can diagnose or treat.
Overall review: I would reccomend buying another car. Unless you want to buy mine, in which case 400$ and its yours.

typical american ford by nismo on 03/15/2005. Trim: 1988 Ford Taurus LX, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Bought it for $200.
Cons: I bought it with both head gaskets blown, cracked radiator, fuel leak, tranny slips, way too many problems to type. it will start then die, then barely start again, then get 200 ft. down the road, and die, and have to push that 3800 lb car back home. watch the temp gauge, cause it will overheat very quickly. didn't last 1000 miles without something major going wrong.
Overall review: sore excuse for a car, i felt like it was going to blow up any minute with the fuel leak that could not be repaired. got it fixed, then again, then another leak sprang.
