74,000 Mile Van Review by Earl from Augusta, GA. on 08/06/2005. Trim: 2000 Chevrolet Express G1500, Owned 6 years.

Pros: Very roomy. I never had any issues because of the need for more room. The children can barely see each other, let alone touch each other on long drives. One fill-up lasts a week with annual fuel system maintenance and normal driving. Rides comfortably at seventy-five MPH. Able to accelerate with a car. Worth more than the price that I paid. The extended warranty plan covered almost all repairs. No problems at all for four years.
Cons: After 4 years, the rear lights had to be replaced, alternator had to be replaced, fuel gage became inaccurate, and replaced one rear speaker. Brakes have to be serviced every 2 years. Have to keep watch on the coolant and oil level (every 3 months there is a slight decrease in both) Have to replace the serpentine belt every two years to keep a quiet engine. Had to buy another extended warranty because GM's warranty ends at 75,000.
Overall review: Excellent vehicle. Worry free for many years. Routine maintenance maintained the vehicle's performance. Worth more than the price.

Pros: (No data provided)
Cons: Interior door trim panels very poorly designed. They break and come loose from the door repeatedly.
Overall review: So far mechanically, the vehicle has'nt been too bad. The overall interior trim design and durability has been very poor.

THE Family Van by Frank from LongIsland,N.Y. on 05/07/2003. Trim: 2000 Chevrolet Express G1500, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Excellent family van! Roomy and comfortably. Got the room to move or buy bulky items. Best for the kids! Huge rear door opening. And very good sight for visibility.
Cons: Being a van/truck,they are known for not getting great gas milage. Electric lock button location, always fumbling to find it(especially in dark).
Overall review: This is a great vehicle! I have a custom hightop with American Van Package.I think the best feature(Having kids and all) is the tv/vcr.A miricle invention to keep them quiet! This van is very roomy and comfortable. And unlike a minivan ,if something goes sour in the rear on a drive weather local or on a long vacation you can just get up and walk to the back and check! (KIDS) lol. The seats are removeable for more interior access,(bulky and heavy)but how often are you gonna take them out? Gas milage is so-so about 14/18.But since i installed the tornado fuel saver it improved drastically! I really have to say Chevy makes the best trucks! Very reliably.

Easy Chair Comfort by Traveling Man from TN. on 09/24/2001. Trim: 2000 Chevrolet Express G1500, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Ours is a Conversion Van by Choo Choo Customs. They did a great job. We bought it for travel and for towing our boats. The 5.7L engine does and excellent job. Just returned from a 5500 mile trip and all four people were extremely comfortable the entire trip.
Cons: Not real happy with the brakes but our service mgr. says thats the way they are designed. We have only had one problem with a door handle. Mileage varies from 12 to 19 mpg.
Overall review: We recommend this vehicle to anyone that really needs the power and wants the comfort for travel. If you are not going to fully utilize it then its overkill so go for a more economic package. Forget getting power rear bench but go for the best bucket seats for the front and second row. Recommend the elevated top as the added comfort is great. Also this engine loves synthetic oil with a filter change every 3000 and complete change every 7500 to 9000 miles.
