GREAT CAR
by Myalyas, SC on 11/09/2005.
Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Lumina LS, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
Very dependable, lots of room, and lots of power. Lots of trunk space. Gas mileage is great, atleast 26 mpg.
Cons:
One: that cupholder in front of the stereo. Luckily, my armrest also has a cupholder so I don't have to block my stereo.
Two: GM doesn't make Luminas anymore.
Overall review:
My first Lumina was a 1991 and I drove it for 9 years and had over 200,000 miles on it. I loved it so much I bought this one in '99. It is even better than my first one!
6 years and over 100,000 miles - only one major problem: small crack has developed in intake gasket. I'm going to have that fixed and drive her another 100,000 miles. Maybe GM will re-introduce the Lumina by then.

Overall good quality vehicle
by Dehn24 from MN on 04/08/2010.
Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Lumina LTZ, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
The 3800 series II 3.8L engine has decent power. It has a sportier look to it.
Cons:
I've had some trouble with the engine, (wiring/fuse), and theft deterrent key resistor.
Overall review:
Overall, it is a very good quality car and has enough power to keep it real.

Good mid-class, middle-of-the-road (figuratively speaking!) transportation.
by Webistrator on 01/16/2007.
Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Lumina LS, Owned 7 years.

Pros:
Good, sound transportation and mileage with a relatively good ride. The original Uniroyal tires hardly wore at all but were noisy; replacement tires made a world of difference in the noise level.
Cons:
Friction-fit window/door trim is poor quality; freezing weather causes it to come loose easily. I had to glue it in place. I can't rave about the paint quality either.
The trunk wastes too much space with its antiquated lid hinging system. The lid supports rob too much of the usable space when closed.
Overall review:
A pretty good car for the money if properly maintained (oil changes done every 5K, etc.). But I think for a car of this length one might find as much vehicle with a smaller "footprint".
