The Safest Truck I ever owned!
by Lucky to be Alive in Ohio on 04/04/2011.
Trim: 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Reg. Cab 8-ft. Bed 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.
2
Pros:
SAFE, better gas mileage than a v6 dakota, smooth ride,
This truck saved my life! I was in a wreck with a semi truck. He crossed the median hit the guard rail and came up and hit me head-on on the passenger side. The paramedic told me I better get another silverado because it saved my life. I would recommend this truck to anyone! I was also told that was the 3rd-4th silverado that the driver walked away after being hit by a semi!
Cons:
I only had the truck for 34 days before the wreck but I did not have any problems with truck.
Overall review:

Time to put the old girl out to pasture. She's been a great ride.
by Jodi the Jedi on 11/09/2012.
Trim: 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Ext. Cab 6.5-ft. Bed 4WD, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros:
Great ride when it was younger and fewer miles.
Great looks.
Roomy.
Best fuel mileage for a full sized truck at the time it was built.
I've never been stuck up at the beach, when my buddies had to dig their Fords out of the sand.
Cons:
Weak points include the fuel pump and intake gasket.
I've replaced the fuel pump twice and the intake once (It's leaking again now).
Overall review:
I've owned this truck since 2001. It has been good to up until the last 2 years. I didn't do much towing, so the transmission and engine have help up great. It's just now starting to dollar me to death. With 199k mostly trouble free miles, I guess I can't complain.

The Green Machine
by doug on 03/31/2011.
Trim: 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Reg. Cab W/T 8-ft. Bed 2WD, Owned 6 years.
1
Pros:
Very comfortable, reliable for the most part.
Cons:
Mine really does not like any sort of moisture. For example if it is parked outside during the rain or while snow is melting it usually wont start. Very very weak door handles inside and out.
Overall review:
Love this truck. Even though it takes hissy fits when you leave it outside overnight on wet days, its still a great and reliable truck. Currently has around 150,000 km's on it and it only needs some minor fixes.
