my berettas by cowboy from ohio on 09/06/2011. Trim: 1996 Chevrolet Beretta Z26 1SN, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I have owned three of these Berettas since high school. The acceleration and the handling in tight curves is fantastic. Provided you have the rite kinda tires for that. Everything inside is within reach. Small enough to feel like youre in a cockpit with the way the seats wrap around you. My most recent one i got a year ago. It has 140,000 on it now. still runs strong.
Cons: The glove box is a pain. Hard to reach and open from drivers side. Working in the engine compartment takes skill and patience. Theres not alot of room but you can work on them.
Overall review: These cars are fantastic for young kids for a first vehicle. They are great on gas. mine I put 93 octane in and drive for a week. Averaged it out on a tank is about 425 to a tank. About 40.00 to fill it up. not bad. I truly love these cars , but i see them far and few. GM shouldve kept this car going. Tough as can be and very dependable with styling a little speed . You cant beat that.

Chevey should go back to making this car. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/12/2009. Trim: 1996 Chevrolet Beretta Base, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I bought this car with 100,000. It still runs great! Well made and gets 32.5 MPG. The interior is comforable even though I am 6'1" and weigh 245lbs. It's not a large car, but did I mention I get 32.5 MPG? Even as a base model, I love it. This is the type of car that gave American Car makers a good name. They need to go back to making this type.
Cons: None, really.
Overall review: I wanted a nice, dependable, good MPG car, and I got it. It has been extreamly dependable and comfortable. I could not be happier with it.

Review of 1996 Beretta Z26 by FastRed1996Z26 on 02/02/2007. Trim: 1996 Chevrolet Beretta Z26, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Styling, handling, easy to modify performance upgrades, small enough to park, good acceleration, can become a sleeper car with about 1k worth of minor bolt-on upgrades. Split fold-down rear seats with center armrest. Cluster of gauges gives instant information. Good reliability. Nice looking 16" rims, with body-moldings and rocker panels. Rear spoiler.
Cons: Doors leak air at high speeds, requiring adjustments, hard to stay open, side marker lights get corroded, trunk has old-style opening making it not nearly as functional as other models. Steering wheel is too high, door lines too low, feel not insulated in cabin from the outside. Car is about 10% too small.
Overall review: Have owned two Berettas, a 1992 with the 3.1 v6 and a 1996 Z26, for a total of over 12 years in a row now. The Z26 is souped up and can hang with many new cars costing many thousands more and outhandle most cars quite easily.
