It keeps going and going and going... by Jon from MO, currently in TX on 06/17/2003. Trim: 1991 Chevrolet S10 Pickup EL Reg. Cab Short Bed 2WD, Owned 5 years.

Pros: It can haul, pull, and go a lot of places it shouldn't for a small 2wd truck. And all that after 200,000 miles. I never question it's dependability. Anything that has ever gone wrong was easy to fix.
Cons: The manual shifter makes sure you get to know anyone riding in the middle. It definitely isn't the best if you regularly have more than one passenger and yourself.
Overall review: When I turned 16, I wanted a black 2wd S-10 with a 4 cylinder and a 5 speed based on the reliability of my dad's 1983 4x4 model that is still going at well over 250,000 miles. I found exactly what I wanted with 130,000 miles on it and it's still going great at 200,000. People are amazed when I have the confidence to hop in my truck and drive 2500 miles in a weekend. There's a reason they call Chevys the "most dependable, longest-lasting trucks on the road". The passenger capacity is a little bit of trouble when I have to carry extra people. If this type of vehicle is what you need, the Chevy S-10 will definitely accomplish anything you can ask of it.

All anyone could ever ask by Sweet J from Colorado Springs, CO on 10/17/2002. Trim: 1991 Chevrolet S10 Pickup Reg. Cab Short Bed 2WD, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros: I am convinced that this truck will run forever. I have the 2.5l 4 cylinder engine, and have over 150,000 miles. Outside of regular maintenence, I have never had to do anything to it. The 4 cylinder has little power, but good gas milage. The transmission still shifts like new, and the engine will n ot die. Take care of it, and your kids and maybe grandkids will be driving this truck. Has never once let me down, and I drive the hell out of it.
Cons: The only things I don't like are the lack of options. I got the heater-and-a-key model, so no 4WD or AC, Power steering or stereo. I have since added a stereo. All of these things are only specific to my truck; get one with a better options package and this will be solved.
Overall review: THis truck has been a work truck, a teenager truck, and a college student truck. It has never failed a task given to it, and I'm sure it never will. it has been in the family for 11 years, and still performs like the day it left the lot. It has absolutely sold me on the GM midsize truck. A better buy you will not find. It handels the snow and ice, and has never failed to start. It was my first vehicle, and it will be hard for me to part with it. I cannot say enough about it. Absolutely wonderful. She may not be the youngest woman at the ball, but she'll turn a head or two.
