Fun to drive
by Steve Oregon on 10/17/2008.
Trim: 1990 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
The 6 speed is great. Get over 31 MPG on long freeway trips. Very fun car to drive.
Cons:
Bose stereo, had problems with speakers.
Overall review:
Love the car. I have had an 84 coupe and an 89 convertible, both with automatics. The 6 speed works great and is so much more fun to drive, Get an extra 3+ MPG on highway compared to my 89. Recommend the car to anyone.

bang for your buck

Pros:
i purchesed this car with 48000 origional miles about a month ago, It has all options that were availible exept for the zr1 package. everything works, including the the selective ride control. great car. It has a timeless stile to it that will still turn heads. Its a great buy, and an investment.
Cons:
i love the car except for the 245 horse power. the horse power doesnt bother me or the way it drives, but its nothing to brag about either. upgrading power would be simple and not too costly. If you change your mind on the car just because of the horse power your making a mistake. Another issue that bothers me is the fact that C4's are infamous for their water leaks, mine just happens to be one of them.
Overall review:
If your going to buy one, take the previous persons advice and walk away if its been rode hard. Great buy, A pleasure to drive. I would recomened this car any day. i have owned it a month, and will own it many more to come.

Feel The Power
by Philadelphia on 02/17/2008.
Trim: 1990 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Speed, cornering ability (on dry pavement), the feeling of sliding into a cockpit where the infinitely adjustable seats envelope you and hold you secure in the tightest curves. Not the fastest off the line, but strong, steady acceleration - the 340 lbs of torque are unreal. After 25 years of driving putt-putt- sedans, there is now no need to down-shift on steep hills. Although it takes premium gas, the six speed gets close to 30 mpg on the highway. Try to find one that has been adult-owned and treated with respect. If it looks beat-up, walk on by.
Cons:
Could/should have had more horsepower. You have to remove a body panel to replace the battery. The engine idles hot. No place for golf clubs but the front seat. Don't even think about driving it in the snow.
Overall review:
If you always wanted to take the plunge, go for it. You will not be sorry. It is a true sports car in every sense of the word.

My First Corvette
by ChevyJunkie1 on 09/15/2007.
Trim: 1990 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
The interior is the best arranged for the driver of the previous years with the same body style. It has the cockpit styling of an aircraft. The passenger side is just that - for a passenger. All controls are left to the driver. The handliing of the vehicle I have has the suspension adjustment for touring, sport and performance which is a great add-on for handling in different driving situations. It's very stable in any road situation.
Cons:
There are two downsides to the car. The seats are small although they just right for me. But I have friends who can't ride with me because they are bigger than the seat with hold. Perhaps a C5 will fix that issue, but not the C4. The other is the HP rating. You would expect a sports car like the Corvette to have more than 245 hp even pre-LT1. Granted the rating of 340 ft lbs of torque is eye opening, but the hp is just not enough.
Overall review:
I love the car overall. It's handling is far above any vehicle I have owned in my past and I'm in my 50's, so I've had a few cars over the years including a 55 BelAir with a Corvette motor and four speed trans with beefed up suspension. But back to something more factory, the Corvette is way beyond my expectations on the road. The interior is the perfect size for me. The looks of the car are timelessly stylish. There will never be another car quite like it. And the biggest seller is that my wife likes the car.

Pros:
The looks you get driving down the street. It's red with a black stripe like the grand sport.
Cons:
Bose system has been a problem. Replaced both front amplifiers. CD player doesn't work. SYS keeps flashing. Had it to a dealership twice for the problem. Don't believe this dealership works on many corvettes. I am the third owner. Somebody before me used a harsh cleaner on the rims. Clear coat is cracked and faded. Looking into aftermarket rims.
Overall review:
Great driving car. Going to keep the car for a few years then look for a 95 or 96.
