Great, practical, car by Alberta driver on 11/30/2012. Trim: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi, Owned 4 years.
Pros: This is the best car I have ever owned - foreign or domestic, now with 228K on it. It has the best GM has to offer with great styling, comfortable ride with steering wheel controls, Heads up Display and self leveling suspension with ABS and Traction Control. Lots of power, and decent gas mileage. It is the same format as a full size Cadillac with more features. It has all weather traction of front wheel drive, a large battery for cold weather starts and large comfortable yet sporty aspect tires 235 55r 17. Great comfortable car for a long trip - even has a compact spare tire and jack.
Cons: Maintenance. Read the Bonneville forums for problems and fixes. A trunk leak was fixed by unplugging the plastic plugs in the upper trunk lid. Also unplugged the sunroof drain tubes by separating them in the trunk and blowing the accumulated mud out. Had a 'check gas cap' warning so, cleaned the fuel intake tube and gas cap seal. Replaced the seat heaters with aftermarket seat elements. The plastic coolant elbows for the heater leaked, rear window regulators quit, oil pressure sensor quit and a wheel hub sensor quit but, really nothing else other than the usual maintenance items. Make sure to follow service intervals for all fluid changes.
Overall review: Generally better quality than most manufacturers and it has as many features as even the latest GM models. If it is well maintained, it will last a long time and will reward you with a great vehicle.

Fun but costly by Dave from Canada on 08/23/2009. Trim: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SLE, Owned 9 years.
Pros: The Bonneville looks amazing compared to most cars built 9 years after we got ours. It is powerful and yet great highway gas mileage. Through the snow its good, especially when the rear tires are worn out (slide around corners like a truck). Very roomy and can get 4 sets of golf clubs in the trunk (one to two carts maybe with it)
Cons: The saying "GM parts to go" sums this car up. Both rear windows no longer work, some plastic clip broke and the second one went just closing the door. Seals around doors are falling apart and now you think a door is open. Stereo lights gone, hard to see the station during day. The ABS no longer works and between headlights and break lights we lose one a month. Biggest complaint was the rear spoiler leaked and GM wouldn't fix it..they blamed everyone else (rust check, us and the dealer we bought it from). We fixed it ourselves. The A/C heating fan went, car was gone for a week and came back with a rattle and clicking in the fan. Honestly I love the car, I just wish GM would use quality parts.
Overall review: Overall I like the car although it costs a lot. My 97 F-150 get a fraction the gas mileage but still costs us less when you throw in repairs. Its great on trips, excellent highway mpg. To bad Pontiac is gone there cars had more style to them, the G8 for sure. To sum it up once the warranty runs out get rid of it and let it be someone else problem.

another so-so GM product by natch of Maryland on 07/16/2003. Trim: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi, Owned 3 years.
Pros: the car does a lot of things well. nothing exceptional, but doesn't do anything bad either. Great touring car for 2 but not that comfortable for more than 3 adults.
Cons: too much body roll to be a hard charger and the tires (OEMs) are not sticky enough to push it hard. plastic interior is ho hum and would like to see fore and aft sterring wheel adjustment
Overall review: overall good value for the money

Pros: Good looks and good handling. comfortable on the road.

Glove box difficult to get into and things fall out when door opened. Information center is not accurate. Gal. used off by as much as 1 per tank=MPG errors.
Overall review: Very good on road. Good gas milage. Sporty sedan.
