Great Car-- Bad tires/brakes by Len on 08/16/2001. Trim: 1999 Isuzu Oasis S, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: Size (small, but with lots of interior rooom), easy handling, seats for 7, easy entry/exit, folding 3rd seat, decent MPG.
Cons: Vehicle is somewhat noisy. Also, I have had 2 problems (below). If anyone has suggestions, please write review. Thanks. (1) Have had repeated flat tires (Bridgestone 411 tires), No road damage, no bad valve stems, etc. After tire is inflated, another one will go flat at some point a few weeks later. Dealers can't figure out what is wrong-- suggested that someone may be letting the air out, but it happens at various places. Note: If this is cause and I catch him/her-- watch the headlines!!!! (2) Brake noise and pulsating at about 13,000 miles. Dealer turned rotors. Noise returned at about 15,000 miles. Dealer has ordered new rotors and pads. Hope it cures the problem.
Overall review: I love the car, except for the 2 problems noted above.

Stretch Accord by John in Minneapolis on 11/09/2000. Trim: 1999 Isuzu Oasis S, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: 4 REAL doors in a minivan-like vehicle. Back door windows open, unlike sliding doors. Rear seat folds flat into floor. Great fuel economy
Cons: Power is only okay. However, it is adequate and it seems like a fair trade for the fuel economy and lower emissions.
Overall review: It's made for Isuzu by Honda, and is in fact the same vehicle as a pre 1999 Honda Odyssey. The engine is a Honda VTEC 2.3L 4 cylinder. Very quiet, smooth, and ecomonical. It has minivan space, with good room for 6, or 7 in a pinch. It has four regular doors, rather than a slider. That means they can put regular roll-down windows on all four doors. Many components in common with an Accord. Think of it as a tall, stretch Honda Accord, and you won't be far off. I like it.

A Honda Odyssey by any other name by Len from Cherry Hill, NJ on 11/05/2000. Trim: 1999 Isuzu Oasis S, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: Combination of good MPG and capacity to occasionally carry up to 7 passengers. Easy access. Great for transporting older people. The Oasis seat height doesn't need climbing up or stooping. Drives like a nimble compact car. Honda Accord heritage??
Cons: Some engine noise-- 2.3L engine is just adequate. Would be better with small V6 like the old 2.7L Acura Legend unit.
Overall review: This is the old small Honda Odyssey. Purchased new 1999 leftover in Nov. 2000. Price seems somewhat high for a 4-cylinder, but "leftover discount" made it relatively reasonable ($20,000). Good combo of "people capacity", economy, and sporty handling. The quality seems to be there-- but then again, it is a Honda. Lots of them used as NYC taxis seem to attest to toughness.
