The best car I've ever owned
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 09/23/2008.
Trim: 2000 Infiniti QX4, Owned 6 years.
Useful?
Pros:
140,000 miles, have owned or 6 years...and mine was a previous rental. No repairs EVER and EVERYTHING works. The thing to note is that even after all these miles, the car has no querks, squeeks, rattles etc. Sound system is exceptional. Leather looks new...with three kids + dog. Paint still shines. Very nice ride, much better than a Pathfinder. Needed Shocks at about 100k. I installed KYB's and I thought they made the ride harsher, but there's a break in period, then the smooth ride returns. Another thing to note is that this vehicle has awsome 4 wheel drive ability in snow & ice. Every bit as good as our Lexus LX 470. I plan to take this thing to 200K just so see how it holds up.
Cons:
This is not a tow vehicle, too under powered for long distance hauls. It'll do it, but it'll be SLOW. Body repairs are expensive. The fender flares are $500 a piece, so there's your deductible off the bat. And when off roading, the flares are suseptible to all sorts of pain. At I think, 110,000 need a new timing belt. Belt + water pump, $1,100 dealer cost. Pretty average, part of owning a car. Head room is bad for 6 footers due to the moon roof.

Great look. Great ride, quiet. Unbelievable Bose stereo sound. Have 103K on it and no repair yet.
Cons:
engine too weak, especially in the mountains, but everything is great so I can live with it.
