A damned good deal!
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 03/18/2003.
Trim: 1999 Hyundai Elantra Base, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
Reliable! Looks good too. The backseat is deceptively large when you push the two front seats forward :) It has overdrive to save on gas, and get decent mileage(I estimate about 25MPG). Looks good too. Speakers sound pretty good. Pretty comfortable, and I'm 5ft 11.
Cons:
Can be noisy, but that is what the radio is for. Steering can be tight, but it's responsive when you need it to be. Really not much in the way of cons.
Overall review:
A lot of good for an "economy" car!

'99 Elantra
by Driver from Richmond, VA on 08/10/2001.
Trim: 1999 Hyundai Elantra Base, Owned 2 years.
1
Pros:
The price, the warranty and the performance.
Cons:
I've had to have my horn replaced twice when the vehicle was less than 2 years old. It just failed for no apparent reason. I hope the 3rd horn is a charm.
Overall review:
Well worth purchasing, except for the horn thing. Only other complaint that I have is that is seems to easy to knock the blinker or wiper switches to on.

The "World Travelling Car"
by Greg/Spain on 12/31/2012.
Owned 7 years.
Useful?
Pros:
From Hawaii(Origin) to Cali to Spain and occasional trip to Portugal, my car 's been everywhere. With routine maintenance and tender rubbing care she's still going smoothly @ +240K miles!!!!!
Cons:
Some electrical problems(panel lights), known to appear on all old vehicles.
Overall review:
I'll keep this one and bring her back to Cali in two years time.

by Thomas from Toronto on 12/21/2012.
Trim: 1999 Hyundai Elantra GLS, Owned 9 years.
Useful?
Pros:
Roared like a race car, but drove like your grandmothers.
tank of gas would take me 850 KM before it emptied.
Low maintenance, feels smooth.
looks like a BENZ in the dark haha
Cons:
When it finally goes, its usually beyond repair.
For my first one, the bottom fell out
for my second one, the engine cracked with no warning.
Overall review:
Fantastic car, It was so awesome i got a 2nd. then it went on me too
If it wasnt for the when it goes, its really going in the maintenance id get a 3rd.
