Glad this was my first purchase by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/08/2009. Trim: 1999 Honda Passport LX 2WD, Owned 9 years.

Pros: 145,000 miles and no major issues (fuel gauge, and check engine light on but system check says that is only the catalytic converter and its not a major issue).
Cons: Rides more like a truck than a car (which is what some newer SUVs are based on).
Overall review: I bought it one year old with just under 9,000 miles on it and the car has held up well in the past 9 years I've had it. I am glad this was my first car and unlike some of the other reviews I have had no major issues with it.

YES! Buy this Truck! by Jade from Wisconsin on 01/24/2004. Trim: 1999 Honda Passport LX 4WD, Owned 1 year.

Pros: I love this SUV! Very stylish, options galore, room for all your shopping bags, handles excellent! Moonroof, simple controls, power everthing, wood finishing, keyless entry, and remote start. Great if you have dogs!
Cons: V6 engine eats a lot of gas especially if your job is far away like mine.
Overall review: Awesome truck! Definately must have!

Cons: (No data provided)
Overall review: The car itself is great! It is 4WD and when on the freeway it drives like a car. Size wise it is not to big and not to small.Perfect for a small family.

Not boring and not exciting. Just even keeled. by troyxray Az on 06/22/2008. Trim: 1999 Honda Passport LX 2WD, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: I like that this vehicle (even the 2wd) drives over almost anything, and thru water like it's not there, and thats a feeling of security that you can't get from just anything. I like the simplicity of the dash arrangement. I like the cargo room. The styling is kind of girly. Like it's made for a woman. Sorry ladies. It's a pretty cool vehicle. It's just......(See below)
Cons: When I read all the reviews on this site, I really thought twice. Well, I should have thought 3 times. A camshaft sensor went out, $300. Thats all. I've owned the Passport for about a year now, and what I've read is true. The fuel gage visibly moves towards empty after you hit a half a tank. I've got some sort of hard shift on second or third. Oh yeah, fuel economy is not good at all. These things are kind of minor (except for the fuel econ) and I can semi-live with them. Maybe.
Overall review: If fuel were not so expensive, I would buy this vehicle again, but only if it were the top of the line model with sunroof, etc. But since gas prices are as they are, I am looking to make a change in a few months. Good luck Passport, it was kind of fun while it lasted.

Money Sucker by An MSN Autos Consumer on 08/07/2006. Trim: 1999 Honda Passport LX 4WD, Owned 3 years.
Useful?
Pros: Its confortable to drive on or off road. Has enough power to play in the mud and snow, and enough clearance to travel many off road trails. Good amount of storage space.
Cons: If I hadn't bought the extended warranty with this rig, I would be out several thousand dollars in repair bills that ended up being covered. Another problem is that many mechanics are not very familiar with these cars, and parts can be expensive and difficult to find at times. Gas mileage is another con, with averages between 15 and 18mph.
Overall review: Its been alright.
