The 1999 Jimmy by Thomas- Metro Detroit Michigan on 04/04/2008. Trim: 1999 GMC Jimmy SLS 2-Door 4WD, Owned 3 years.
Pros: I have the 2 door Jimmy with 4wd. It's great in the snow and it's tiny so it moves good. I like parking because it's small.
Cons: I pretty much dislike everything about it. The electronics are horrible. I have tons of burnt out dash lights. The panels rattle, the door is falling off the hinge, and the list goes on.
Overall review: It's not a vehicle to have tons of miles on. I had a 1993 Ford Explorer with 212,000 miles on it. This Jimmy has more problems than my Explorer with 112,000 miles on it. HORRIBLE! I really don't like it.

Strong enough for Atlas by Matt from Tennessee on 06/11/2007. Trim: 1999 GMC Jimmy SL 4-Door 4WD, Owned 5 years.
Pros: i used to own a 95 LT blazer and boy was that a piece of junk! i now have almost 200,000 miles on my jimmy and i intend to put another 200,000 on it. this has been the best vehicle i have ever had. i am a volunteer firefighter and my jimmy gets driven hard with high RPMs and quick stops. i am able to pull anything i want wherever i want without the least grunt or hesitation. i've only ever done regular work to the truck itself. i've had a few little parts go out but since i'm so hard on it, it's to be expected. i drive roughly 1,000miles a week and will continue to do so until the wheels fall off.
Cons: they don't make them anymore.
Overall review: I can't imagine anything better or stronger. the vortec V6 is amazing and my only regret is that i didn't buy an extra jimmy since they aren't made anymore.

Good strong truck by Soccer mom in Denver on 11/24/2006. Trim: 1999 GMC Jimmy SLE 4-Door 4WD, Owned 7 years.
Pros: This has been a good car for my family of four. The comfort and space can not be beat. It has all the bells and whistles. They made this car with lots of comfort and style. We drove it all over the Rocky Mountains to Yellowstone and four corners. I love the easy to reach radio/CD controls on the stearing wheel. Engine runs strong.
Cons: The accessories went out, i.e., Back seat belt, hatch back stopped opening. Parts like fuel pump and four wheel drive motor are very pricey. I was amazed with how much GMC charges for parts being that this is an American made car. Rear window defrost stopped working. Ball joints too expensive to fix.
Overall review: Good but expensive to maintain and fix.

good vacation vehicle by Tim From Niagara Canada on 09/26/2006. Trim: 1999 GMC Jimmy SLT 4-Door 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Lots of Head room for a 6'5" guy. Runs very quiet. Good gas milage. A very comfortable SUV with lots of cargo space.
Cons: Drive train clunking in rear, very un-smooth acceleration.
Overall review: Overall, my Jimmy performs quite well and I am mostly satified with perfomance.
