Supreme Sleeper! by Moat Gondy(Xbox Live) tag on 12/17/2011. Trim: 2000 Ford Contour SVT, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: The acceleration for a smaller v6 is amazingly swift with the manual from 0-80mph. I have personally taken down many turbos off the line. For a natually asspirated vehicle this one is a dream for those who perfer sleeper type vehicles. The styling is nice and not many people know that a SVT Contour even exsists. It is kind of funny seeing people in the mustangs(V6 and older V8's) scratch there heads when they catch up to you at the next light. The car corners better than any I have owned. It truly is like driving a BMW around turns. The seats are very comfy and vision out the backwindows is unblocked.
Cons: Gas gussler when you get into the gas but what can you expect with a quick car that can take on a Mustang.
Overall review: Do not pass up this car if you like speed. This car is quick and nimble with a top speed of 148mph with the RPM limiter. The SVT will not disappoint.

Transmission dead at 64,000 miles.... by stewdogg42 on 07/27/2004. Trim: 2000 Ford Contour SVT, Owned 3 years.
Pros: (No data provided)
Cons: Avoid this car like a bad disease. Pay a little extra for a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla. They are much more reliable.
Overall review: Since hitting 55,000 miles, this is what I've had to repair: A/C died completely, I had to replace battery cable assembly, had to replace transmission This Ford Contour is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. This car is only worth (at most) $3500, the new transmission cost $2900. Here's the math: $3500 - $2900 = CONTOUR IS A PIECE OF JUNK!!! It only has a 4 cyl in it and it only gets like 22 miles to the gallon.

Whats up with this? by Jason on 11/20/2003. Trim: 2000 Ford Contour Sport, Owned 3 years.
Pros: good power,decent handling
Cons: recall city!
Overall review: For the money payed for this vehicle,Their should have been a lot less recalls, the paintand primer should still be adhered to the metal, the dash should not have peeled up to a point of almost interfereing with your visibility, and on and on and on.Choose a different vehicle.

The Ultimate Affordable Premium Compact Sport Sedan by Cruiser/Racer from CA on 04/21/2003. Trim: 2000 Ford Contour Sport, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Great handling, acceleration, braking. One of the nimblest cars around regardles of the price. Outraced every entry level BMW.
Cons: Minor annoyances - weather strips, poor OEM tires (Firehawks GTA). With new Eagles HP car got a new life - way smoother/quieter ride, way better handling, accelerating, braking.
Overall review: 3rd year w/o problem but replacing weather strips that caused leaking in the trunk and the driver's floorboard. Better handling/cornering and speed than any car below $30k.
