Pros:
There is no additional extra that we wish the vehicle had. The radio has a casette, a cd player, several series of am and fm selection "group" buttons and a 6 disc cd changer in the console. All a/c, htg. controls and sound controls on the steering wheel. All leather seats, compartment in the rear side panels inside the back of the vehicle. All power seats, heated seats, storage on the back of the front seats. Rear a/c-htg vents, music selection with controls on the rear of the console for the rear passengers to control, right down to head phone jacks. The sun/moon roof is great and the panel that slides over it is too. Automatic glare control rear view mirror, We love it, It fits in garage!
Cons:
The flat black paint used on the front grill. The design of the rear window wiper motor arrangement, others have had the same failure we have had.
Overall review:
700 characters is not near enough to describe our vehicle. I just wish I could have bought 2.

Good but not aging well
by Mom from NJ on 12/05/2011.
Trim: 1999 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros:
Has been reliable up until now, now problems with 4WD
Cons:
Poor Gas Mileage - Transmission Failure twice in one year!
Overall review:
Our 99 Explorer has been reliable and safe up until the last year. All the door locks & auto windows have broken. Starting to rust and peeling paint. Timing chain went $$$$ and then the tranmission was rebuilt $2500. Now it's a year later and the transmission has failed. I can't afford a total rebuild again. The truck is not even worth that much with 190,000 miles.

Pros:
It is strong and reliable. We have owned this one for 10 years. It has 246,000 miles on it. We have had work done but nothing major. It is still in good conditon and looks great. People never believe us when we tell them the year and mileage.
Cons:
The sound system could be better.
Overall review:
