Cracked dash
by Pete in Houston on 10/25/2009.

Pros:
Mechanically has been good for 130K miles
Cons:
The dash cracks badly. This is a nation wide problem you can research on the internet
Overall review:
A shame that Dodge uses poor interior materials

Prone To Transmission Problem
by A MSN Autos Consumer on 01/23/2003.
Trim: 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Short Bed 2WD, Owned 3 years.
2
Pros:
The characteristics I like about this vehicle are far outweighed
by the problem it has.
Cons:
This truck has never trailored anything other than two motorcycles
on one occasion and it has been driven with care, yet at
72,000 miles, the transmission is falling apart. After checking
around at various transmission shops, I am told that newer Dodges
often have transmission problems. That is unacceptable.
Overall review:
Unless you want to replace a transmission, don't buy a Dodge.

THE 2000 Dodge Ram 1500
by Machismo on 05/08/2010.
Trim: 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab Short Bed 2WD, Owned 9 years.

Pros:
What Is There Not To Love About This Truck.
Cons:
Could Have A Little More Power Stock. But A Little After Market Shopping Should Achive The Need For That.
Overall review:
Over All This Is One Of Is Not The Best Truck You Can Buy To Date. Reccomended to all.

Great Classic Dodge Truck
by Bill on 03/03/2010.
Trim: 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Short Bed 4WD, Owned 8 years.
1
Pros:
Mediocre acceleration but torque and power to spare. Plenty of power for pulling and towing. Classic Dodge Ram styling. The off road package was definitely a good buy.
Cons:
Dash cracked. 11 MPG downhill with a stiff tail wind. Tends to shift a lot in cruise control and a serious jerk when it drops down into passing gear.
Overall review:
Great truck over all, never been short on power, never been stuck, I've never felt like I "didn't have enough truck". I love the body styling.
Hate the way it operates in cruise control, you're shifting all the time, so I don't even use it. The fuel economy would make a tree hugger lose their mind. But it's a truck.
