Durable and Reliable

Pros:
Was planning to trade this van in when we bought a new Sienna 3 years ago - but glad I did not. It is used as a commuter car (15K / year) now and now has 170,000 miles with no major repairs. The biggest issue I have had outside of occational maintenance was fixing a bit of rust in the body and trans cover (front drivers wheel - a common problem) - and needed to re-flash the transmission computer to make the shifting smoother (part of standard maint). I continue to be surprised every day as to how well this car still runs - still getting 22MPG on the highway with a 3.3L engine.
Cons:
Rust issue are few - but exist in this car.
Overall review:
Exceptionally happy with the durability and quality of this Grand Caravan (2000)

Pros:
Driver comfort and roominess
Cons:
Difficult to see at night when backing up maybe due to tinted windows or poor back up lights.
Overall review:
Very comfortable on long trips. Plenty of room for luggage and passengers. Sound system is great.

Pros:
I bought this in mid-2000 when it had 7K miles on it. Now it's up to 176K, and we still drive it on long trips without any concerns. I hope to get a couple more years out of it.
Cons:
It has begun to rust quite significantly, which is understandable since it has gone over a lot of road salt here in Massachusetts. I've had some fiberglas repairs done, but there is a rust problem near the fuel intake hose that may prove to be too difficult or expensive to fix.
Overall review:
It has been a great workhorse of a vehicle. It is the second Chrysler minivan that I have owned, and I've loved both of them

Pros:
This car is great in regards to minivans. Love the overhead info panel, the comfy seats and the ride is excellent. As long as routine maintenance is done then its an awesome van and pretty sharp looking as well. :p I had a 96 and this 2000, the 96 was utter junk as opposed to this one being an incredible vehicle.
Cons:
I wish it had an oil pressure gage and a voltage gage like the older models so i could monitor better what was going on with the engine. The seats ARE heavy but comfy to sit in though i love how many different configurations you can place them in.
Overall review:
Overall this van has been awesome. Although im partial to the early 90s models, this one is not too shabby at all. Its comfortable, roomy and reliable. The trick to these vans is MAINTENANCE, you need to have the trans fluid changed by the dealer(if you can find one that is reputable and knows the tricks to these) To those that claim they are junk if you dont take care of them then most cars are junk. Yes i do recommend the extended warranty because there may be issues with the trans. However, overall this van is reliable and safe and has been a great car overall. The trick to the brakes is to get ceramic pads and bleeding them properly which alot of places do not do. The serpentine belt is often the wrong size and even the schlock dealerships get it wrong. The biggest key to these vans is getting them from a dealer that isnt going to try to rip you off otherwise they will take you at every opportunity.
