A sleeper keeper by Slow Racer on 10/02/2012. Trim: 2000 Chevrolet Lumina, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: This is not a bad car to have if you want something reasonably roomy, reasonably trouble free and reasonably well built. I've had it since new and beyond the infamous intake manifold gasket ( at least it lasted 10 years)there haven't been many major repair issues. The transmission and radiator are holding up, no rust or paint fade, no oil leaks, no engine problems. The A/C still works, all the electrics still work, its held up well for a '99. I have kept it maintenanced, oil changes, fluid changes, new plugs, and the miles are still low at 90,000 . A new alternator, and a misfire fuel injector when it was 5 years old were the last engine problems. . Fairly quiet and a soft ride.
Cons: Its a little sluggish uphills with passengers. No cupholders which is a major pain. No backseat armrest. Its fairly roomy but not lounge chair comfortable. But its only a mid priced mid size so its not bad.
Overall review: Not a bad car. Not flashy or stylish but not cheap, either.

Comfortable family car by Sue - Angola, IN on 08/23/2004. Trim: 2000 Chevrolet Lumina, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Size is easy to park. Nice steering. Good family car. Killer heater and A/C. Gas milage is decent
Cons: Dealer tells me it's a 2001 however no one else says there is such a beast. Service Engine Soon light stays on....been trying to get the light (dealer says it's the light unit) repaired for over a month. Wish it had inside truck release.
Overall review: LIke the car - not the Chevy dealer.

Pretty Good Car by Colorado in Michigan on 03/04/2004. Trim: 2000 Chevrolet Lumina, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Dependable, roomy interior, good mileage, and fair price.
Cons: Spent $1350 on tranny at 72,000 miles. Replaced pressure control soleniod, clutch hub assembly, soleniod shift control, and some other parts.
Overall review: Never in shop until tranny gave out. I probably would still recommend this because I have not had any other problems with it.

Hope yours is better by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/01/2004. Trim: 2000 Chevrolet Lumina, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I like the styling, fuel economy and overall performance
Cons: The transmission went at 60,000 miles! Engine clatters when first started. GM Dealer says it is a wrong coating on a couple of the pistons & doesn't effect the performance. Though the "fix" includes corrected cylinder wall damage. !!!!!
Overall review: I sure hope others have better results with theirs than we have had with ours. Very disappointed with mechanical problems mentioned above. Purchased car because my other one died 1500 miles from home from Chevy dealer in Los Lunas New Mexico. I think they knew they had a bad car and sold us a bill of goods.
