Wish they still made them
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/13/2009.
Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Prizm Base, Owned 5 years.

Pros:
Our 99 Prizm not only gets great gas mileage (34 highway, 28 city?) it really knows how to accelerate, at all speeds. The car is pretty low and aerodynamic, which helps with the MPG. The trunk is pretty big for such a small car. We bought the Prizm with 74k miles and it now has over 165 miles.
Cons:
The starter had to be repaired (not replaced) at 140k miles. The plastic door handles on the inside are flimsy and two of the four are broken. Pretty cheap part to replace, though
Overall review:
Excellent used car if you can find one.

Pros:
This car has handled the toughest job on the planet for a car.. and that a paper route. or 9 years this car has hndled anyting we have trown at it. the engine and transmision have not failed or faltered one bit. coplete oil changes every 2500 miles and the transmision fuid every 5 k. this car cant take anything you trow at it for reiabilty. a must ave car for as mileage and upkept cost.
Cons:
The only thing that has failed on it is the plastic door handle on the drivers side.
Overall review:
I honestly give this thing a 10 for performance. and upkeep

My good little car...
by VaWench in Michgan on 05/24/2004.
Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Prizm LSi, Owned 5 years.

Pros:
It's dependable. It gets pretty good gas mileage - exactly what the manufacturer stated.
Cons:
It sometimes feels a little cramped, but the seats are comfortable. The design of the drink holders in front of the stereo is terrible. There is no access to the stereo without removing the drink. It's worse with two drinks. And if your phone cord is plugged in, the drink doesn't sit all the way down.
Overall review:
I've only had to replace tires, a battery and an alternator. The alternator was my fault because I ignored the battery dying. I had had the car four years when it was replaced.

Useful?
Pros:
5-speed transmission, milage, comfort, handling, trunk space, no rust or paint problems
Cons:
Nothing
Overall review:
I wrote my first review on February 18, 2001. 26,000 miles then, 88,000 now. Still rides and handles like new. Replaced the starter two years ago. Otherwise, no problems
