A Great vehicle by GM Lover from Fort Worth on 05/18/2010. Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Regular Cab Short Bed 4WD, Owned 10 years.
2
Pros: I think this truck has surprised me because it is the only chevy I have ever liked as much as the GMCs I have pruchased. I love this truck, she has 274,000 miles on her; and still no transmission problems.
Cons: Anyone who has owned a GM vehicle knows they have trouble with their electronics within the vehicles. This one has the odometer and full gadge out.
Overall review: My second favorite vehicle ever. Only behind my first truck, a 1989 GMC SLE ext cab truck.

219,000 and another 100,000 to go. by B Miller, Utah on 07/16/2009. Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Ext. Cab Short Bed 4WD, Owned 8 years.

Pros: 219,000mi and runs great. Easy to keep clean in and out. Pulls trailers just fine and very few problems outside of parts just wearing out. Pretty east to work in the engin compartment once the air system is out of the way.
Cons: As most Chev's leather drivers seat started falling apart where you get in and out. No headlight overide, what ? Headlights or daytime run. lights always on. Not helpfull in a blizzard or at the drive- in. The ABS ... BS come on Chev. Man Up.
Overall review: This has been well maintained and I strongly believe it will go another 100,000. I'v had to replace most components but alternator, water pump, and pullys I replaced because I couldn't figure out a mis-alighned power steering pully. They were all the original parts though, I figure it was due anyhow. I did put in new injectors at 200,000 not because they failed but I havent had a payment in 6 years, why not a little love for the old girl? I'm running an average of 14.5 MPG and I drive very mellow, I'm not sure about these guys getting 22-24. 17 if the whole tank is highway. It's been a darn good pickup and I assure you I have USED it as one.

A Great Truck by Flyboy on 05/12/2008. Trim: 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Regular Cab Long Bed 4WD, Owned 6 years.

Pros: It's really a 1998, but this site would only let me go to 1999, anyway My Chevy Silverado has been a very very good truck. I bought this one cause my other Chevy silverado is 19 years old & has over 200,000 miles on it & still going strong !
Cons: Nothing,...Really ! Maybe if it would get better gas mileage, but I get 20mpg IF I drive 62mph. anything higher then 70, and it drops back to about 17
Overall review: Overall I would keep buying a Chevy Truck cause they last sooo long. I work hard for my money, and I need my trucks to last a very long time & no downtime. I would never buy a Toyota or a Honda. I try very hard to buy American when ever I can, but somethings like TV's are out of the question, you have to buy from the Japs. Chevy, Ford or even a Mopar for me !
