Great Car by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/21/2005. Trim: 1999 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro, Owned 3 years.
Pros: The car drives great. Lots of fun and eats up the miles. Unstoppable in the snow (snowtires a must). Good gas milage 20/29. Buying parts from the dealer is not as expensive as you might think (not including exhaust). Very tight even after 100,000 miles. Very easy modifications and lots to choose from.
Cons: The dealer experience is terrible and this seems to be a recurring theme with almost all owners (nationwide?). There were alot of trips to the service bay when under warranty, Audi Assured. These were annoying but at least free. Warranty a really good idea but forces you to the dealer. Now serviced at Volkswagen dealer, great.
Overall review: A really great car despite the problems. Even with the crummy dealers I would still consider another, hopefully that won't be for a while b/c this one should run a long time. Still no rust after 6 years in the northeast.

Done Me Wrong by Ms Road Trip on 06/29/2004. Trim: 1999 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro, Owned 3 years.
Pros: I like the very idea of it.... a driveable wagon with AWD. A bit of class in a compact car.
Cons: Lost an engine; lost the climate control; annoying and expensive repairs that are beyond routine. Expensive routine repairs, too!
Overall review: I am soooo disappointed.

I love "Bell" my A4 wagon by Stacey N. Auburn Hills, MI on 12/10/2003. Trim: 1999 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Everything so far. Especially all of the great luxury features and the fun of the 5-speed manual. Corners like its on rails and its a wagon!
Cons: Maintence is costly but worth it.
Overall review: So far I would highly recommend this vehicle. The price was reasonable and I anticipate driving it for a long time. Great value for the money, who else offers an all wheel drive wagon with 5-speed turbo and all the luxury features at such a reasonable price.

SUV destroyer by Middle management grunt from Rhode Island on 02/18/2003. Trim: 1999 Audi A4 Avant 2.8 Quattro, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Unbelievably capable in the snow (with snowtires of course) - Tows a 1000lbs+ boat effortlessly on a steep rocky launch - solidly built - very nice proportions - firm and comfortable seats - respectable dry road manners - reasonably powerful & smooth engine/drivetrain - 1200+ lbs carrying capacity - good gas mileage - rated high for crashworthiness and above all IT'S NOT AN SUV !!
Cons: Not as reliable as a Japanese vehicle (expected that). Brakes are "unusual" if that term can be applied - backseat is a little on the small side - lotsa noise from tires. Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever find a "family oriented" car that handles like my old CRX - Here's to hope.....
Overall review: I love this vehicle, would recommend it to anyone who wants performance / safety / style with some additional "utility". Would also recommend an A6 wagon if you need more rear seat room. Additionally - if you can stomach the looks of one of those Subaru things go for it - otherwise pay the premium (repairs) and enjoy!
