Great First Car!
by Thomas on 07/07/2010.
Trim: 1999 Acura 2.3CL, Owned 4 years.

Pros:
The reliability of this car is great! (knock on wood) Got it as my first car with 87k on it and now have 108k and it's still running strong, absolutely no problems! Good acceleration from the peppy 2.3. Automatic climate control is very cool for a car made in 99'.
Cons:
Overall, the car is great. As mentioned in reviews before, the turning radius of this car is horrible. Forget whipping around a uturn effortlessly. The seatbelt is a pain in the a**. It's mounted so far back it almost makes you contort just to put it on! Gas mileage is not great but I drive...well..."with a heavy foot".
Overall review:
Great car is you want a sporty fun-to-drive car with all the amenities 1999 had to offer.

Pros:
Styling, gas mileage, reliability. Have 110,000+ miles and runs great. Bought with 46000 certified preowned. Program was excellent and dealer replaced oil seal at 56000 at no charge. Have done all the maintenance as going along. Four cylinder gets good gas mileage but is still peppy enough.
Cons:
A motor mount cracked at about 100,000. Mechanic says its common on Honda products. Repaired and is fine. Original muffler rusts. Replacement is stainless. When asked why original is not stainless, got blank stare?
Overall review:
Distinctive looks, good gas mileage, nice soft ride and creature comforts, trim.
A keeper. Plan to keep as long as it will go. Will report back.

In 40 years of driving....my favorite car.
by Deni from NJ on 02/19/2013.
Trim: 1999 Acura 2.3CL, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros:
Bought the car new in 2000...and now have 103,000 miles on it. Took it for a test drive after driving a Honda and Toyota....sold by smooth, quiet ride as well as appearance.(power seats, sunroof, air/heat controls, roomy trunk space, etc) . Love the car, my very first Acura after years of Toyota cars...and still get compliments on it! Very smooth ride, peppy pick up, and relatively good mileage (24 on hwy...most of my driving. 20 around town) Would love to replace it with a new Acura....but cannot justify a new one when this one is still taking such good care of me.
Cons:
Seat belts are too far back....difficult to retrieve. Sorry I did not get a four door. Two door is best for one or two....back seat passengers have difficult time getting in...and too little leg room. Back windows do not open. Would replace with a four door....if and when I buy another car.
Overall review:
Car has served me well with minimum maintenance costs for 13 years of steady driving. Have replaced brakes, batteries and tires. Heating/Cooling works well....leather seats still look new. Fun, reliable car to own and drive.

Excellent Used Car
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 02/08/2013.
Trim: 1999 Acura 3.0CL, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros:
I bought my Acura 1999 3.0CL brand new from a dealer in July of 1999. It has been a very reliable car with excellent power. I now have 264,000 miles on it. I had a few major repairs through the years such as the cooling fan motor, the driver's power window motor and recently replaced the power steering rack and steering pump and will be replacing the right front axle. I have an engine oil leak that my mechanic will have to repair when the timing belt is replaced. I can't complain though. The car owes me nothing for this many years of service and mileage. It still looks and runs great.
Cons:
I have had problems with the alarm system but that was after many years of use.
Overall review:
I would recommend this vehicle to someone who wants a reliable sporty car with a good track record.

After 150,000 Miles, had a problem over heating and figuring out why. Had to have electric cooling fan motor replaced cost $150.00 even so no major work needed.
Overall review:
I like the look and feel of this car I have 200,000 miles on mine still has alot of get-up and go!
