Overall review: Excellent car. Loves the Highway. Way above average ride and cofort levels. Smooth, tight acceleration. Only normal maintenene required of the vehicle to keep in good condition. Body still holds an excellent shine and great. Classic lines. Car still turns heads after recent detailing inside & out.

Nice Car with High Maintenance. by Practical Husband from Honolulu on 08/08/2001. Trim: 1989 Cadillac Seville Base, Owned 10 years.
2
Pros: The styling is clean and impressive without overdoing the chrome and add-ons. The size is excellent with room for adults and a smaller size than would be expected for ease of driving and parking. People notice that the car is a special car and appreciate its beauty. Acceleration is smooth and quick. Love that low engine growl.
Cons: Car repairs are costly and not easily diagnosed by the dealer's trained mechanics. Two annoying problems cannot be diagnosed and corrected by the dealer. One is a clanking sound. The other is constant thumps. Brakes caused astronomical repairs. Mileage is a miserable 13.5 miles to the gallon. Leather seats not supple and cracked easily. Silly pull down trunk with no value. Dealer does not have replacement mats. Two small chrome mouldings that fell off. Front air dam that keeps getting busted up. Styling is boxy and dated. Something always seems to be needing fixing - in the repair shop seemingly all the time.
Overall review: Expensive car to own due to the constant repair bills and the poor gas mileage. Nice looking car with a smooth ride and a strong engine. Afraid of the upcoming costs of overhauling the transmission and the air conditioning system. Time to call a halt to the cost and donate the car to charity.

Awesome Automobile by Cadillac convinced on 09/30/2012. Trim: 1989 Cadillac Seville, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros: In my opinion this car is underrated, I owned both the Seville and the STS. Mine is 23 years old and People still ask about it today 140,00 original miles and still going strong. Everything works and it will go anywhere. Everyone has their specific taste but if you can find this car in good shape ,even today buy it; you wont be disappointed. even if you have repairs what car doesn't . expensive to own and operate? I don't know. I've pumped a few dollars into mine over time but only to keep them in optimal running condition. Classic car that is now increasing in value. find the STS and buy it if you can.
Cons: Nothing
Overall review: On of the best vehicle I have ever owned.
