Love at first sight, out of love tree months later by Keith from Chocowintiy, NC on 11/12/2002. Trim: 1989 Volvo 760 Turbo, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Very Classy styling and still looks good today. Loved the seats, large gas tank and very large trunk. Big sunroof and great ride. Chicks kinda dig the broad shoulders look.
Cons: Had it for one year and seven months of that year it was in the shop. Although i found some places online to buy cheaper parts than in the dealer i still spend about $500 a month for repairs for that year. Trans went out after two months, Turbo went out after four months, starter went out four times. Alternator went out twice and well you get the picture.
Overall review: I bought it with 112,000 miles on it and now its got 130,000 and hasnt worked in two years. I wouldnt recommend it unless you are a mechanic or have alot of extra cash laying around.

An expensive headache... by Aaron from Indianapolis on 09/19/2002. Trim: 1989 Volvo 760 Turbo, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: The leather seats were very comfortable. Inside, you feel as safe as being in a tank. Satisfactory turbo pick up on the highway.
Cons: The rattles started becoming annoying. The stereo was lacking. Mechanical problems were plentiful. It is difficult finding someone that KNOWS how to work on these cars; not just change parts. The dealer was incompetant.
Overall review: This was my first car at age 16. My parents wanted me to have a safe car. It was safe, because it was in the shop more than on the road. The car had 140K when purchased. I had to replace the radiator, turbocharger, both fuel pumps, thermostat, and other small things. This is not a car to purchase if money is going to be an issue. The repairs are costly if you have someone else do it and parts are outrageously priced because you can only buy the parts from the dealer. I will not buy this brand car (or any other european car) ever again based on the prices of parts and the fact that to get them, you HAVE to purchase them from the dealership. And the dealer simply could not troubleshoot problems on this car. When I traded the Volvo in for my trouble-free Nissan Maxima, the transmission was starting to slip on the Volvo at 165K.

What a car!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Jerry from Middle Ga...... on 08/14/2002. Trim: 1989 Volvo 760 Turbo, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: What a car!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!
Cons: Really nothing! Parts tend to be a little expensive! But you rarely ever have to fix things if you keep them up from the begining!!!
Overall review: I wish I had bought a Volvo years earlier! But I would never buy a smaller Volvo, only the big 4-Door Sedan! S80
