GLX Sedan
by Only Owner in Texas on 10/18/2001.
Trim: 1993 Volkswagen Passat GLX, Owned 8 years.

Pros:
Love the exterior body style ... hope VW brings it back! Wonderful to drive, especially in 5th gear. Spacious trunk and like the way the back seats fold down for more storage.
Cons:
No air bags or cup holders. Seems to have a streak of 2-3 things go wrong when taken in for routine maintenance. Already replaced the $$$ items such as struts, ABS, shocks, heater core, A/C, etc.
Overall review:
Other than some of the repairs have been costly, overall the vehicle has been good to me ... gets me safely from Point A to B and then to C.

volkwagen= good investment
by Eric on 01/31/2007.
Trim: 1993 Volkswagen Passat GLX, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
Well, it's a 5-speed and has a nice low stance to it for starters. Two, it handles the corners really well. The fuel economy for it isn't that bad either, for example, in my car I can do between 70-75mph on the highway and still get 27-28mpg. I think thats pretty good seeing that my passat is nearing fourteen yrs old and has over 203000 miles on it. Anyway, I also like the way it sounds, vw has such a unique sound when it comes to their exhuast.
Cons:
When the time actually comes to repair it, it can become very, very expensive. Also, theres not much out there, when it comes to getting aftermarket stuff for it. Pricewise I don't like how it calls for premium gas on every fill-up, but you sure do notice how bad it runs on regular though.
Overall review:
Overall, since I'm partial to volskwagen I've got just 6 words: Don't have one, go get one.
