Most under-rated Toyota ever built. by D. Roy - Ontario, Canada on 12/09/2007. Trim: 1997 Toyota Paseo Coupe, Owned 4 years.
Pros: This car looks good, handles well, and provides you with great gas mileage. The interior is simple, but the interior quality is great and well put together. It has a sporty feel for a car that is based on the tercel platform. The seats are very comfortable, and head room is not a big issue up front. I like the look of the Silver-grey gauges and 3-point steering wheel.
Cons: Although handling is good on the seo', the suspension will wear over time (I will have to replace mine after 10 years). Rear windshield defroster's aren't very effective. Braking power isn't very strong. The light weight of the vehicle creates instability on the highway with strong winds, and difficulty driving in the snow.
Overall review: Great first car. Super reliable. Makes people say "What's that!?!?". Girls love this car (just don't tell them it only has 93hp).

Paseo by An MSN Autos Consumer on 05/09/2005. Trim: 1997 Toyota Paseo Coupe, Owned 9 years.
Pros: the quality, the engine, the driving performance, the look...
Cons: zero place in the back, the "need for tuning" (because the car has in original small tires, is very high, has a not very attractive sight under the back bumber.
Overall review: my best until now

it gets you places. by san jose, ca on 06/16/2003. Trim: 1997 Toyota Paseo Coupe, Owned 4 years.
Pros: Awesome handling, nice look, good crash test ratings for such a small car, better stereo sound than expected, fuel economy
Cons: even though its only 2000 lbs, the 93 hp it has doesn't make it too quick. small trunk, road noise can be loud, passengers in the back have to duck when going over speedbumps...
Overall review: definitely makes a great first car as a previous reviewer said, but after driving it for a while, youre ready for something more powerful. but overall, if super quick acceleration isnt your biggest concern, youll get attached to it.

The best first car by Dugalle, Australia on 06/06/2003. Trim: 1997 Toyota Paseo Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: It is fuel efficient and looks like a celica, without the price tag.
Cons: Head room in the back is non-existant, power is a bit less then average and it scrapes more then average
Overall review: An awesome first car, it looks good without the power to be too stupid with it. Also because it is very fuel efficient, you have one less worry on your money list. The sound is extremely good, and the gearbox is well made. Handling around corners is good, the steering being responsive and the front wheel drive helping it out as well.
