no one wants to buy it ... by Rich on 07/18/2002. Trim: 1996 Toyota Tercel 2-Door sedan, Owned 2 years.

Pros: Very nice handling, very dependable, great MPG, believe it or not I got average 45 MPG on longer trips and even 50 MPG on a few trips (not speeding, stick-shift)

Cons: quite small car (but spacious). Cannot sell it - I placed ads and there is no response. I need to buy a bigger car for my family and have to trade it in just because no one wants to buy it almost at the trade in value ... One dealer didn't even look at it, in spite that the car is in perfect condition (no accidents etc).

Overall review: buy it only if you plan to keep it till it falls apart (forever)

Basic transportation by Fritzyoski on 09/12/2001. Trim: 1996 Toyota Tercel 2-Door sedan, Owned 5 years.

Pros: Never had one problem with reliability within the 100K miles I owned this car. Very easy to work on yourself. Great gas milage. With the 4 speed manual I consistantly get better than 40mpg. Going 60-70 on the interstate I get around 45 mpg.

Cons: Very basic equipment. Engine is kind of "tame".

Overall review: If your looking for reliable, economical, easy to maintain basic transportation, this is your car! If you're looking for comfort and performance, look elsewhere.

Pros: Excellent, reliable little car, good gas mileage, easy,light handling, fun to drive

Cons: too small for more than 2 people, too light for safety reasons
